Hi....Mike Whatshisname....I do my dioramas around 18" x 24" a few 24" x 24" . The dimension limts of a carry on piece is about 24'' x 14 '' x 10'' aprox. There is a metal frame at the the counter of the airlines with the specifications of a carry on piece. If it fits inside the metal frame it can travel as a carry on. What I do is , build a foamboard box and put in a carry on bag. I am doing the Simpson house model for a diorama , it will be made in parts like a puzzle , and put together any where with velcro , and I will carry it in a metal suitecase of 20'' x 6'' x 18 ''. ...Barbo

Hi.....The most important thing for me in planning a diorama is the final measurments . I have to decide if it will be a local event Diorama or a traveling Diorama. This limits my imagination in some of my projects. ..........What is for you , the best diorama measurments ?.....Barbo

Gasser in the garage diorama, I built a while back.
Barbo replied to larman's topic in WIP: Dioramas
Hi....Larman...I missed your diorama message from May , 24. The use of a wooden plaque is great . Military modelers use this method for there dioramas. It makes a neat final presentation. This black plaque looks great , it adds a pro look..............Barbo -
Hi....outlaw035..I used the backdrop Instant Buildings by Walthers, item number 949-722 Back Street Structures. They also have the Old West Frontier, Industrial District , and Main Street Stores, all of cardboard. None of them are in a specific scale , backdrops are not intended to be in scale , they were first created by museum modelers to produce imaginary distance in small spaces with the method of PERSPECTIVE DIORAMA . Then, model railroad builders began the use of this method for there layouts. The best model railroad layouts that I have visited in U.S.A. are in attics , they have full wall backdrops. So , I hope you can use this method for your future models,,,,,Have Fun...Barbo.

Hi..to all. I am back, I was in Orlando Florida for a full week, in business matters, but also at the Modelpalooza IPMS event last weekend. It was a great show .Hi Larman I like your small diorama , size is not a problem when the theme is complete, I would give it A+, your junkyard diorama is great , can you give us a overall photo. I also had a RR track layout ,like novadose71, it was a Christmas gift . My dad got from a local hobby shop and it had everthing in it , buildings , trees, light poles, cars, etc . It was also 4x8 , but it was dificult to handle inside the house , so it only lasted about a year . We had to sell it. I will never forget that great diorama. That club diorama for the Milwaukee NNL 05 is awsome,I had to print out the second and third photo of novadose71 message of may 19. for my diorama photo collection album , I like to collect diorama photos that does not look like a diorama...great work. I am with Darin Bastedo, figure hunting is very dificult. What limits me in ocations when planning a new diorama are the figures to add...too much talking....great to be back...........Barbo.

Who will continue when we die?
Barbo replied to Luis Ayala's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Hi ..my friend Papin67....sometimes I feel sad about it , but as long as we promote the hobby as a friendship not a competition between us, kids as yours and youngsters as mine will do something about, they will remember that there is something in the hobby world that is not found in any other place....fun and happiness. I know your kids , they are very special, always thank God for them.................Barbo. -
