  1. Sorry for the dust. I need to clean them one by one.
  2. I had them cast and I had the "correct" 71/72 Mach1 and Sprint bumpers cast from original molds. I also made a "chrome" front bumper from a "rubber" one and had some copies of it cast also so I could do a 71 Boss 351 or non Mach1 coupe/conv/sportsroof. I'll post pics of the works in progress soon. Let's just say there are several bodies mocked up for numerous versions of my favorite year Mustang. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10203048790247546&set=t.1439095233&type=1&theater
  3. What do you all think of the parts? Now I can make some accurate 71-73 Mustangs out of the AMT and MPC kits. I've posted another picture of the stock hood (from the Johan funny car), a scratch built conv body, the Motor City Resin coupe and some resin 71/72 MPC & AMT front bumpers.
  4. Yes = they need a good cleaning and polishing.
  5. Here are a few of the forty-three Mustang model I have built in various scales over the last 30 years. Hopefully I can bring them all the NNL east show this year and add seven more to the stable by April. If anyone noticed the Boss 302 and 65 Shelby are 1/43 scale.
  6. Turning a hobby into a business can suck all the fun out of it. My hats off to all the part-time folks out there that keep the cottage company spirit alive.
  7. I assume the Charger was some cars they copied and could care less about the flaws on the "original' car. DM's 71 Mach1 and Boss 351 are fantastic and very accurate and put the old AMT and MPC kits to shame big time. What I never understood is why DM would not sell their products as kits. I'd pay $100 just for an unpainted version and put it together myself. It was a pain in the rear to disassemble one but I did so for one reason - to clone many of the parts you could only dream about after opening the AMT/MPC kits and seeing a promo with an engine. So why did I ruin a perfectly good DM diecast model. I bought about 30 FM and DM models for an average of $20 each from an estate auction and I already had the Boss so it went under the knife and superglue debonder. I bet it took the Chinese worker a good hour at least to put one together as there are a lot of pieces. I'll post some pictures of the parts I scavenged.
  8. Any date yet for the Big Block Cobra decals?
  9. I'm surprised someone has not approached him about at least selling some things via Ebay. The again Ebay can be a headache and after paying all the fees how much do you really make. I can ask him if he would not mind if I scanned his catalogue and then it could posted as an attachement or emailed to whoever asked for one. The same goes for Harold "Brad" Braford's Historic Racing Miniatures products - no website but the quality of their stuff is outstanding. http://public.fotki.com/davetoups/aftermarket_model_parts/historic_racing-1/
  10. http://gpma.org/Archive/gmcnutt.html http://gpma.org/gmlemans.html He built some great models and used to come to the M.A,.M.A. meeting in the 1990's.
  11. The engine is bad (use the MPC 427 Cobra) but the body isn't that bad for a 68 Shelby. http://public.fotki.com/vamach1/mustang-model-cars/68-shelby.html
  12. Where are the hood scoops and that Challenger front end just does not look good IMHO.
  13. It's a antique so it must be worth a fortune. As others have said, you can get a real classic Mustang that needs some work for about the same amount. After you invested $8K in this car it might be worth $7K so unless it's free you would lose in the long run. I'd pass unless you do your own body work and paint and have access to cheap used parts.
  14. The MAMA site has the newsletters and links to members Photo websites. I think most of the effort is made producing the monthly newsletter now in its 25th year thanks to Tim and I noticed Cruz is posting a lot off stuff on the Facebook page. The website may pull in some prospective members but there are many members that have been there from the very beginning and what matters most are the monthly meetings where were have an average of three dozen or more members. The core group has dedicated a lot of time to keeping the hobby alive in an area of the county dominated by military modelers and video game junkies. To have Harold (Brad) and Norm in the club and many talented builders is amazing and we probably take that for granted. I'm sure Cruz will get us more in the digital age but the success of the club has been if it ain't broke don't fix it.
  15. The Mauri/Tilt kit has the opening doors and headlights. http://public.fotki.com/vamach1/mustang-model-cars/detomaso.html
  16. Great to see others building this unique car. I've got about six Pantera kits and have built two of them. http://public.fotki.com/vamach1/mustang-model-cars/detomaso.html http://public.fotki.com/vamach1/mustang-model-cars/100-0084.html
  17. For some reason I cannot see the picture.
  18. On my long list of kitbashes to do. Great work and thanks for the inspiration.
  19. Ditto for #1 and #2 and maybe an AC Ace while we are dreaming.
  20. My kinds of Fords. All that is missing in the group is a Cobra.
  21. Perhaps AMT will issue the 67 fastback as a convertible like Revell did with the 69 Shelby and make this conversion a whole lot easier. I may attempt to turn the Revell Shelby conv into a "stock" Mustang conv using the Revell Mach1 as my kitbash base.
  22. Very nice Diamond are Forever Mach1 and Charlies Angels Cobra II.
  23. Very nice Mustang. I've seen some pictures with a dual air intake for the 1969 T/A Mustangs. I'm working on a 70 Boss 302 T/A.
