  1. Unfortunately neither Brad (HRM) nor Norm (R&M) have a website. You can email Brad directly at historicracingminiatures@comcast.net. Picture attached of the Cobra Daytona Coupe kit. Please stop drooling on your computer.
  2. Historic Racing miniatures parts are available through Replicas and Miniatures of Maryland.
  3. I forgot how long ago I bought this resin copy of either the MPC or AMT kit (not sure) but with a part here and a part there it is coming together. I need to finish the engine compartment and add exhaust tips, mirrors, and whatever else comes to mind. I went with a 428CJ from the 69 Cougar kit and chassis from the 68 AMT Shelby.
  4. I built one and added some extras and a Mach1. I like the Cobra idea - the Monogram kit is awesome.
  5. I'm waiting for this kit to arrive in the mail. It's an oldie but goodie. http://www.ebay.com/itm/141182523714?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649
  6. I wish I had a GT40 but having a FF Cobra will have to do.
  7. Yes - the engine upgrade is available from Brad at historicracingminiatures@comcast.net and it is very nice.
  8. I wish my 1st attempts were 1/2 that nice. I went another route and started this resin kit long before the Fujumi kits were available and for comparison here's an older IMC version too.
  9. Here is are some SICK pictures that may help you in the detailing department. It looks good so far.
  10. I'm going to the NNL east and Charlotte for the 50th in April and then the Carlisle All Ford show in June.
  11. No World of Wheels shows for about ten years in the Washington DC area. A club started a car show in late February at the DC armory five years ago and it's slowly getting attention but no where near the crowds I remember back in the 1970's. I'm entering my full size Cobra and there isn't a model contest but it should be fun as I have not showed a car there since the early 1990's.
  12. It's relaxing and I feel like I have accomplished something instead of just vegging out watching. I meet a lot of great people through model building, I love building miniatures of the cars I like, they take up a lot less space than the real thing, and hopefully I can pass on my collection in a very long time to someone that would enjoy them as much as I have. I've been building since I was a kid and just never stopped so I guess if you like something you stick with it. Nothing else better has come along that give so much enjoyment for so little investment.
  13. I have two sets of these.
  14. Where did you get the braided hoses?
  15. I'm pretty sure one on the many reissues of the AMT kit had the correct gumballs and yellow stripes,
  16. If I can take it apart w/o destroying it I will do that. It was super glued together so I'm getting used to using the Debonder.
  17. The engine is from the Danbury Mint Boss 351. The model was in mint condition before I took it apart. It was sacrificed so I could get a lot of parts off it. I did not pay anywhere near retail price for the Boss so I don't lose any sleep over me trashing a very nice diecast model.
  18. Next time I give some parts to my caster I can pull the one off this engine.
  19. Where would the 1965 World Champion fit in? I think we have some international modelers that think Ferrari's are not drag raced or compete in American based series like Nascar. http://www.digitaljournal.com/pr/1694371 I would welcome a category of "other" racing.
  20. I run into Pete everywhere I go.
  21. Yes - a correct 72/73 Eleanor with the plain hood but with Boss blacked out rear.
  22. Yes - my bad. Welcome to the club.
  23. It would be interesting to see these 1/16 scale two models morphed together into a 68 Shelby convertible but that could be expensive given that both are long out of production. The progress on yours is looking good.
  24. I guess I'm a multi-tasker.
