Great job on a kit that has stood the test of time. Here is one I built 20+ years ago. You will notice a few differences - 1 4bbl vs. 2 carbs and wire wheels vs. alibrands. This kit can be built numerous ways (street w/o side pipes) to a full blown racer and someday I'll build a few more. Back then there were not as many sources for decals (guages, emblems) so most everything had to be hand painted. These shortcuts which isn't a bad thing and you can spend more time on engine wiring or chassis detailing if you like or move on to the next project. Keep up the good work.

That is the AMT 1/43 kit.

I forgot to take pictures of my mini me mach1. It's the Japanese Otaki kit with opening doors. working lights but no engine.

Lemans Miniatures, Starter and CMA all built in the 90's.

Here's what the engine looks like w/o the ram air cleaner. Ain't it pretty. It will end up in either an AMT/MPC Boss 351 or maybe a Pantera.

Also posted in another thread but here it is again.

Here's one I built from the Testors kit a long time ago.

It happened to be in the background. It's an Exoto 1/18 diecast and is a very nice model.

71 Mustang resin cast parts
vamach1 replied to vamach1's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
I can ask my caster for a price for a "set" of what we will call a transkit. I know the dash was a pain but the rest of the parts seemed ok. I';m not sure on price but I'm guessing in the $25 ballpark per set. Post here if you're interested. The seats were not cast due to being rubber. He may also have the master molds for the standard 71-73 hood (non ram air) and 71-72 urethane bumper (versus the cow catcher 73 bumper). -
Looks like a great start. I plan to build the 67 T/A racer with mine.

The blue convertible is the 1/16 Entex I bought in the 1980's. The 1/25 Yellow Mach1 is a Testors diecast/model that were sold at Michaels and some toy stores. The smaller yellow Mach1 is about 1/26 scale and is made by Bandai.

I was looking at some of my models and noticed two of the tires on my Nichimo 68 Shelby had melted pretty badly. So - out comes the AMT 1/16 64.5 Mustang kit and the Epoxy to the rescue. The AMT tires are a little too big but I should have the Shelby back to good as new very soon. So - if you're thinking about dropping $100 for the Nichimo kit be forewarned - the tires may go flat. I'm going to scrap all of them.

Last one.

Enjoy.

Sorry for the dust. I need to clean them one by one.

71 Mustang resin cast parts
vamach1 replied to vamach1's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
I had them cast and I had the "correct" 71/72 Mach1 and Sprint bumpers cast from original molds. I also made a "chrome" front bumper from a "rubber" one and had some copies of it cast also so I could do a 71 Boss 351 or non Mach1 coupe/conv/sportsroof. I'll post pics of the works in progress soon. Let's just say there are several bodies mocked up for numerous versions of my favorite year Mustang. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10203048790247546&set=t.1439095233&type=1&theater -
What do you all think of the parts? Now I can make some accurate 71-73 Mustangs out of the AMT and MPC kits. I've posted another picture of the stock hood (from the Johan funny car), a scratch built conv body, the Motor City Resin coupe and some resin 71/72 MPC & AMT front bumpers.

Yes = they need a good cleaning and polishing.

Here are a few of the forty-three Mustang model I have built in various scales over the last 30 years. Hopefully I can bring them all the NNL east show this year and add seven more to the stable by April. If anyone noticed the Boss 302 and 65 Shelby are 1/43 scale.

Turning a hobby into a business can suck all the fun out of it. My hats off to all the part-time folks out there that keep the cottage company spirit alive.

I assume the Charger was some cars they copied and could care less about the flaws on the "original' car. DM's 71 Mach1 and Boss 351 are fantastic and very accurate and put the old AMT and MPC kits to shame big time. What I never understood is why DM would not sell their products as kits. I'd pay $100 just for an unpainted version and put it together myself. It was a pain in the rear to disassemble one but I did so for one reason - to clone many of the parts you could only dream about after opening the AMT/MPC kits and seeing a promo with an engine. So why did I ruin a perfectly good DM diecast model. I bought about 30 FM and DM models for an average of $20 each from an estate auction and I already had the Boss so it went under the knife and superglue debonder. I bet it took the Chinese worker a good hour at least to put one together as there are a lot of pieces. I'll post some pictures of the parts I scavenged.

Any date yet for the Big Block Cobra decals?

Online Sources for Replicas and Miniatures of Md.?
vamach1 replied to Chuck Most's topic in Links to Aftermarket Suppliers
I'm surprised someone has not approached him about at least selling some things via Ebay. The again Ebay can be a headache and after paying all the fees how much do you really make. I can ask him if he would not mind if I scanned his catalogue and then it could posted as an attachement or emailed to whoever asked for one. The same goes for Harold "Brad" Braford's Historic Racing Miniatures products - no website but the quality of their stuff is outstanding. http://public.fotki.com/davetoups/aftermarket_model_parts/historic_racing-1/ -
http://gpma.org/Archive/gmcnutt.html http://gpma.org/gmlemans.html He built some great models and used to come to the M.A,.M.A. meeting in the 1990's.

The engine is bad (use the MPC 427 Cobra) but the body isn't that bad for a 68 Shelby. http://public.fotki.com/vamach1/mustang-model-cars/68-shelby.html
