Awesome - won;t be able to tell if apart from one of those high dollar Franklin mint cars. -

Old Revell-Monogram Decals
vamach1 replied to Cali Bear's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Did you try the decals yet? He seems to sell a lot of the old Fred Cady decals but is different scales. -
Lots of nice extra details. A few things that bug me about the MPC kit is the door panels are from a 68 and the outside headlights are too large, Nonetheless I built a stock Mach1 out of it.
-
I have a real 72 Mach1 and it's not worth half of what that fastback sold for.

I plan to be there since it's the year of the MUSTANG.

Peter Brock, a man for all seasons
vamach1 replied to Greg Myers's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I've chatted with him several times at Shelby events and other car shows. He is much much friendly than Shelby ever was. -
Wow - someone does listen to and understands modelers.

Where did the hubcaps come from on the Green Shelby? Missing Link?
-
Stop talking about these models and lets see some pictures. I built them a long time ago and the resin was a little thick with some pin holes but nothing you could not overcome. The 67 Shelby is not finished.

Are those the kit guage decals? They look very realistic. -
Wasn't this a pretty rare and expensive Mustang kit. There is one on Ebay now. http://www.ebay.com/itm/FORD-MUSTANG-II-MACH-1-1-16-MODEL-KIT-NITTO-JAPAN-/370956234251?pt=Model_Kit_US&hash=item565eb6ee0b

This looks like a great source for decals for 1:1 GT40's and Cobras and a nice reference for model builders. http://www.racelinedigital.com/store/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=6_54

Bill J - thanks for the tip about the HRM Cobra which is pictured unbuilt. As for the Revell/Aurora MKI - it is really a decent kit and goes together better than the IMC ones. Speaking of the IMC kit - I could not resist buying this never opened one.
-
I have built both the IMC and MPC ones and they both are not perfect but they beat the alternative cost wise. http://www.ebay.com/itm/371029387490?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT As far as the Daytona Coupe goes the HRM one is a bargain compared to the Japanese ones and is far more detailed and accurate than the Gunze Sanyo one. However, at almost $200 it is not cheap but is a model at a whole other level. The Daytona coupe pictured was NOT build by me but I built the GT's and slept at a Holiday Inn once.

Here is an almost complete Thunder Valley kit with the Fujumi donor kit plus a lot of HRM parts. It's ends up being pretty comparable to the Lemans Miniatures ones except it has an engine. It's pictured with the IMC GT40 and the Mirage by Mini Exotics.
