Palmer made a 70 Boss 302 but wasn't that a close knock off of the MPC kit?

Bartoletti Transporter and the Daytonas Coupe... Last Update 5/28
vamach1 replied to Brizio's topic in WIP: Model Cars
How about the ones from Harold Bradford? He has a 289 Cobra engine kit. -
I painted it so long along I cannot say for sure - probably a Testors red. Other things not evident are a resin rear end, photo etch grille, wheel center emblems, and taillight trim, windshield washer bag, and roll bar. The funny thing is in the group picture I forgot to include the AMT 67 GT350 I built several years ago.

Fujimi 1/24th 427 Cobra kit ?
vamach1 replied to Greg Myers's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I have not built one yet but it looks like a 427 chassis and engine to me. Compare it next to Revell 427 to decide which is more or less accurate. -

The recent build has some company of diecasts.

After a long time, a lot of parts from many sources and some lousy winter days, I have finished this one for now. The only things I may add later are plug wires and the seat belts that hang from the roll bar. This began as a AMT 68 Shelby with a Mini Exotics conversion plus some parts from the AMT 67GT350.

It goes to show you sometimes what you think is correct when you see a real car it actually isn't. The "real" R model I saw would be what I call a private entry 66 Shelby with some 65 R model mods. The Monogram kit represents a 65 R model fairly accurately which you have replicated. The only thing I see is if you remove the battery (mounted in trunk) and radio, and add the shock tower braces and a Monte carlo bar you will be good to go. R models also had stock looking valve covers if you care to take it that degree of accuracy.

Saw a nice "R model" at a car show last weekend. It has the 66 dash, style quarter windows and side scoops so I'm guessing it's not a factory R model.

The Boss 429 had the horns relocated and lines and fittings and lines for the oil cooler. Changes those things should be an easy fix.

I have spare parts for this kit if you need them.

You may want to "upgrade" under the hood with replacement inner fender and adding shock tower braces.

Heading down to Boca Raton FL tomorrow. To heck with this zero degree BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH.

Reissue of Warren Tope's '73 Trans-Am Mustang

I saw these parts on Ebay a few weeks ago. http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-Missing-Link-Resin-AMT-Ford-Mustang-Boss-Mach-correct-front-bumper-amp-grille-/351289891129?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2047675.l2557&nma=true&si=imz%252F%252F257pdT%252FxyCGG4oC2knvwmY%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc If I recall about 10 years ago I asked Norm of R&MCO if he would cast the 71-72 style bumper for the AMT and MPC kits and he did. Whether he still has the molds is another question. -

For the flat hood check with Replicas and Miniatures of Maryland. I had Norm cast me a few from a hood I cut out of the Johan funny car so it would fit the AMT/MPC Mustangs. -

Great job on the weathering. I can't remember which Ford kit has heads that has the rockers which would look cool. A 427 Cobra body was made of aluminum and most kits are fiberglass.
