  1. Great start. Are you doing the "regular" or KR version?
  2. That's sweet. A guy in our club has a similar Cobra - aluminum polished to look like chrome.
  3. Very nice. I dread the time it will take to build mine but it will look nice next to the 1/12 Mach1 I have not built either.
  4. Hey JC - I've got a spare body if you want to modify it. I'm missing some pieces so a nice resin kit would be awesome.
  5. Thomas Crowne Affair movie car.

    Mad Mach1

What else to do with the Linberg 71 Mustang kit that is in a word inaccurate but to turn it into a customized Mad Max mobile. I thought of doing a right hand drive version but for simplicity sake I built it stock except for removing the trunk for the extra cargo. The only thing left to do is add some Zoomie pipes but I could keep adding other things once I dig through my parts boxes. Just for fun I added the license plate of that other famous 73 Mustang.
  7. A few suggestions. Mask off the emblems or use Keith Marks decals. Buy the tail lights aftermarket and cut them out of the chrome panel. Buy aftermarket radiator, shock tower braces and inner fender panels. Sorry for the lousy picture but you get the idea. Even better, add plug wires, a coil and voltage regulator, etc.
  8. Holy #$%^& those kits are expensive.
  9. I'd rather see a nice 67 and 68 Shelby convertible and the 70 Boss 302 T/A racer.
  10. As found in my 1/12 Mach1 kit.
  11. Yes Mini Exotics did a Mirage. I'm guessing it was based on a slot car.
  12. Thanks for posting JC.
  13. It could be a 67 or 68 but of it's supposed to be an Eleanor clone, those used most of the styling from the 67 Shelby which looks very different from the 67 Shelby. The stock 67 and 68 Mustang do not look a lot different.
  14. Page two of the Doyusha kit instructions describe the Mustang engine as a 7030 cc 429 engine. If any of the version of the kit had white decals they are incorrect. Only black or silver stripes were available from Ford. Mistaking silver for white from photos is a common mistake and even Fred Cadys decals for 1/24 Mustangs (Boss and Mach1) were the incorrect white which he later switched to the correct argent silver.
  15. Two thumbs up - I got my parts this week too from the old USSR.
  16. I like the color. Back in the 80's I knew someone with a Boss "9" and he ran BFG Comp TA's (probably 15 inch) and actually drove it on some tracks like Charlotte (aka Lowes Motor Speedway) for fun. Most of the real ones are trailer queens or just get sold over and over at auctions.
  17. I've got a couple of these kits so I'm inspired now.

  19. I got some Cobra decals from him a week ago. He's in Canada. His stuff is 1st rate.
  20. Not sure if you want to adjust that shipping price - seems kind of high for some light weight decals.
  21. His wife/girlfriend was easy on the eyes.
  22. I built one a very long time ago and I seem to recall the headers did not fit well with the sidepipes.
  23. Very nice job. My project has not gotten beyond the primer stage.
  24. Fabulous at 40. Seriously - very nice work. I have done nothing on mine except open the box. I did notice the windshield and side windows on your build seem to not be flush with the body which I assume is just a characteristic of the kit. I'm going to test fit mine and may add some body color paint to the white glue to hold them in or black to replicate trim and/or sealer. oh - and ouch on the price of the tires - $68.
  25. Yeah - I'd welcome that just to get my hands on some of the unique parts. Like it or not the quality and accuracy of the many diecast Mustangs I have purchased put plastic kits to shame. I don't think we can throw too many stones when I doubt that most people that make a resin copy of a plastic or diecast model or parts got permission from either the model company or the car company. Of course it's not a good thing when a government starts taking copyrighted property but it does not surprise me.
