  1. This is a great build. It looks like real parts photos, not plastic. God Bless
  2. The details are nice and the build is looking good. What did you glue the leather with?
  3. The detail work is great on this build, keep up the good work.
  4. I use Dupli-Color filler gray primer, but lately all I have found is the red/rust color. When I sand it,it works out real smooth on the in perfections. So I used the primer sealer your talking about to prevent bleed through and it all worked out good. I have not found a reason not to use it.
  5. My stalled kits come from the mood I'm in. If I plan on custom work I'll start then to the side it go's,until the mood to throw puddy hits. If all body work is done then the mood to paint has to hit me. I have came up with more bad paint jobs just trying to finish one, instead of doing it when I feel that I want to paint one. Detail work go's the same way. Thats why,at time's I'll build straight out of the box to get back in the mood for whatever, and back to some stalled builds. Case in point the truck is waiting for the puddy and finish mood to hit so that the paint mood can hit, then on to the details and finish mood. The 55 is waiting on final clear coat and detail work then finish.
  6. Take the experience find the things you do'nt like and change them on another detailed one. Your off to a good start anyway.
  7. Thanks Tommy Those are well detailed
  8. Thank you Mark That will work just as well. God Bless
  9. He sounds like a real jerk. And he needs another job,if it was me,I would help him need to find one. When you deal with customers there all the same regardless of how they dress.
  10. I'M trying to find some more of these distubtors. Thanks for any help. God Bless
  11. Testors Huggar orange. Thats all the testing that I did with the different orange paint. They all were sprayed over white primer.
  12. I have used TS-12 orange covered with TS-73 clear orange'then TS-13 clear on the 66 Impala. And TS-12 covered with TS-65 Pearl Clear on the Chopper it turns out like metal flake. You can see the difference in the color tone either way. Hope this helps. The lighting is not that great sorry.
  13. That came out good Jim
  14. Man it sure is strange how the mind works sometimes.LOL These kits are pretty cool. Good job on all of them.
  15. Again like your other builds very good
  16. Thats not junk come on man give yourself some credit. and the results for the time frame is very good. I've got about eight weekends in these and there no where close to finished. Keep up the good work God Bless
  17. It do's look good like you said its an old build. You can break it down and rebuild it or tape every thing off and clear coat it and it would look new again. If you do it over do it the same as it is .
  18. Off to a good start. How do you heat the fenders after there clamped in the shape you want?
  19. Can't make the show but how about some photos when you get back
  20. Kim You are not the only one that got a PM from Jimmy I also got one. If he keeps this BS up he needs to be kicked off the forum. I gave him simple advice about life and he lashed out at me and others in the same PM that you, myself and others got from him. Now anyone that thinks I'm being to hard on him by saying that he should be cut off from the forum I do'nt agree. He seems to be to self-centered he must have issues that he needs to deal with. And when my grand children act like he do's I take things from them to keep them on track, and it works. I did reply back to him with some postive advice hopefully he will use it. God Bless
  21. Have you tried Easy Off oven cleaner? I use it when I do need to strip one off sometimes it takes several rinse off then respray the cleaner back on steps to get it to the plastic, about 3 times depending on how thick the paint is. After that the dawn cleans it off with out problems.
  22. Yea the molded in exhaust sucks,I going to build one,and I'll cut that off and replace the floor pans and come up with an exhaust.
  23. It will be ok you only had to do it 500 times to get it right. LOL That happened to me on my current 55 chevy I'm doing,it's been a long time since I've, had paint problems that bad. I guess it's just one of those deals. I'M going through the 5th cycle and maybe this will get right I hope. God Bless
  24. Yea the top looks better matching the body color. I have the big scale of this one,and the chrome is faded so if I ever build it, thats the way I'll paint mine. Looks good God Bless
  25. well done that is a nice build
