cool idea

You did really good on it.
-
I hated that kit as well. Looks amazing though. Great color choice.
-
I looked it up. It was an MPC kit. Good to know the Revell kits have them though.
-
That is sweet
-
Yeah, and so were the regular Rally wheels too. There were also decals for the tires. There's a whole thread on whats in the kit in the review section.
-
No, it was a red car. Only had the RS grill. The stripes also didn't have the 396 on them. Just a blank spot and you had to paint the 396 on. No SS badging or Camaro script. The only decals were the stripes and plates. I got it about 10yrs ago. I got it since it was the only SS version I could find. I may have to get the Pace Car though. I've been wanting one.
-
Which one? I got one years ago and it didn't even have the SS decals. In fact, I consider it one of my worst models I've done.

Been wanting this kit since it was first announced. Hadn't had a chance to get around to building it until now. It's an excellent kit. I have nothing bad to say about it. Wish they'd make a decal for the Hound's tooth interior, but that's not really an issue. This was one of the nicest kits I've built. It was well worth the money I paid to get it. Looks amazing. I wouldn't mind having one. I've seen the old Revell/Monogram kit on eBay before, but I've never seen this kit.
-
I thought these were pretty cool kits.

That looks pretty sweet as well.

Yeah, only problem with that is they put other decals inside the red line decals. It was a pain getting the decals off. Thought I lost one of the cap emblems when putting on those and the red lines.

This is the new Revell 427 Coupe. I really like the kit. It builds fairly easily. The decals are nice and I'd say it's very similar to the roadster kit. There are a few differences and things that I don't like though. I don't like how they did the pipes and I think the exhaust outlets look a little large for the car. I also had some fit issues I didn't have with the roadster. The hood is glued shut because of one of them The back corner would not stay down. It sucks because I did a really nice job on the engine bay. Still, the kit makes a nice looking model. Looks 1000 time better than how mine came out.

That looks good. Probably the best looking version of that kit I've seen.

Revell / Monogram 64 Mustang kit - anyone built one?
Hard_2_Handle_454 replied to OldNYJim's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
They're not a bad kit if you get the new Revell version. I really enjoyed the build. It's one of the better kits I have built and a favorite of my collection. 1 (57) by Eric Lucas, on Flickr 1 (58) by Eric Lucas, on Flickr 1 (59) by Eric Lucas, on Flickr -
Looks cool. Good job.

Yes, it's not a bad little kit. There's things I like and don't like about it.
-
This wasn't a bad kit, but it had some issues. The decals are super fragile and a couple disintegrated on me. I lost another after it fell off. The hard top also has a slight fit issue. I also don't like the one piece under side. I feel it should have had a two part frame like some of their other kits. Came out looking alright though.
