  1. This is some truly impressive work, are you going to add flanges to the door glass rails or paint detail it?
  2. Call me what ever you like but the fact is I have dedicated most of my life to muscle/race cars from going to school for it, to eventually having my own place that does nothing except hi performance and resto-mod work, when I see the effort and money Revell put into these kits it baffles me that no one there shares my passion for these cars. I like revell kits, the molding and detail have become very, very good but when the shape of a vehicle is just off in many ways its more of a disappointment than anything else, yes I can fix the flaws but I cant understand why they are there to begin with. It just stinks buy'n multiples of kits only to find out when I open them they have glaring flaws that are not hidden and not easy fix's to those that know the cars well. Thank you to Revell for advancing the hobby but I dont mind waiting a little longer if thats what it takes to iron out these issues. I also dont mind the long flat box's on the ROG rebox's, boiling parts isnt fun.
  3. the grill isnt the biggest issue to me, winning one and buy'n a one are different IMO. I get what your saying and it isnt the end of the world, Ive just grown to expect a lot from revell and it seems to be hit or miss on the new kits. The tooling and molding are always nice though.
  4. lol most of the cars I build have brakes that big in the front now, that one has 18's to clear 13" brakes. the pro touring thing is 90% of work anymore, pays the bills. combo is a Dart based 540 with a 5 speed. sorry for the thread highjack, I am disapointed in the kit lol
  5. Nice, I may be able to own a set in 1/25, I priced a set for the race car WOW $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ Are you gonna leave em natural or do em black with the big delta stickers inside. That rotor and wheel are gonna look killer.
  6. yep most firechicken parts are identical, I have one of them in the shop as well an I agree that kit is pretty decent. the camaro is a late model corvette burn orange, did it a few years ago, it's back to get a new clutch. pic of car then.
  7. your spot on about the nova tail, and the tail lights are to big in every direction on the camaro by the eyeball test, I believe the quarters taper in to much as well making that problem look worse than it is. I love this country but I really wish revell of germany or tamiya would do some old muscle.
  8. it looks worse in person, the side shape is wrong to, the quarters dont bulge enough in front of the wheel well they just seem to taper in hard on the kit. camaro's make up a LARGE portion of my business, I am very disappointed in this kit. hers a shot of the side profile. yes I know I suck as a camara man and I only use my phone but I think the detail gets through.
  9. it has better tooling and is a better plastic but IMO thats about it, Im less than impressed. The fox coupe kit has the chop top but otherwise is a nice kit IMO for a car previously not offered, the camaro has a LOT of issues in a market where a prior copy is already out there, I just dont get it, they are common cars, how hard could it be to find one to compare to? Im heading to work for a few, Ill take a pic of the tail panel that IMO is the biggest flaw
  10. x10 and there are FAR bigger issues with the kit that arent easy to fix or hide
  11. bought one today, really disappointed that the tail panel and rear valance are so wrong. Anything is fixable but its sad to see such nice tool and mold work as the modern revell's have and the subject be blairingly wrong
  12. hard to answer that as that combo has never and never will be legal in PS or the short lived PST. throw out what you want to build and the location of things such as fuel tanks, oil tank if going dry sump, induction type, trans, etc. You can make it very simple or very complex depending on the details you want man.
  13. sweet, excellent work as usual man. I wish I could find an accurate first gen nova body to build a replica of our's
  14. yes wish bones move, they locate the axle front to rear an travel in an arch, as a rule of thumb the steering rod or drag link should be as long as the wishbone so they travel in the same plane with minimal bump steer. the hiem joints/rod end's at the axle end allow you to adjust caster. The axle is located side to side by a panhard rod, wishbone, or in some cases the leaf spring its self, Traditionally a wishbone front was sprung by a transverse leaf or a torsion bar in the high end cars but it isnt uncommon to see coil overs or even air bags these days. I hope this was still moc up stage http://i756.photobucket.com/albums/xx203/2xdemo/727A1E35-74D7-4A66-A88C-89813232618C-5021-000005C5F6AA65D7.jpg
  15. lookin sharp, Id take lil bend out of the chute release cable, those things dont hold a bend very well. Looks good either way man
  16. I prefer the height and shape of the smaller hat but IMO the throat area where it feeds the rotor's is too short front to rear for anything short of a small screw, the fatter hat's base looks like a better match for a roots, even a superman roots would need more throat than the tall hat has, personally Id add throat length to the tall hat. Great work as usual man, your work and speed are very impressive
  17. Thank you, good stuff there. I hear ya on the 1:1 car bills, kill'n us
  18. mind shooting me that location as well, love the old funnys
  19. looking great but I believe the carbs are on backwards if your going for 100 accuracy
  20. heres the cars facebook page, some decent shots,https://www.facebook.com/groups/280417496317/photos/ the 70 revell boss mustang I listed earlier has an optional dual quad tunnel ram in the kit that looks like a decent start to match the cars photos, the polar lights kit is only a single four single plane
  21. the polar lights Richard Petty torino talladega reissue has a boss nine in it in 1/25 scale the revell boss nine mustang is an option as well
  22. these things are sexy in person, just curious is anyone has started on em yet.
