OMG! Didn't this hobby grow from Aluminum (AMT) promotional models and paint demos for dealers? Who paid back then? Don't try to clone "Barbie". Anyone interested in a Rolex? Let's just hope you don't have to register each time you use a trademark in writing. Just remember 'This broadcast is owned by MLB and the rights of _______ team, any reproduction or transmission of content is strictly prohibited.' Oh by the way what was the score.oops. greg -

Here is a thought, A fellow modeler that I know has this philosophy: Buy three, one to build, one to hoard and one to speculate. greg -

Chrysler workers years ago had a bumper sticker that said. "I buy what I build" with a little xacto art work I changed mine to "I build what I buy" and stuck it on one of my boxes I used for transporting good to toy shows. greg -
I'm puzzled, not by the model but another little customizing trend, If you look at the side of the model the chrome door handle catches your eye. What ever happened to solenoid door openers especially with the new remote systems available today. Recently when I was selling some of my collection at a show I got hassled because I shaved the door handles off a lot of my 60's & 70's models I had. That was the trend back then and I think it would make any retro custom better Nice Riv, not a big wheel fan, Never rode in a car with big wheels and don't know how hard of a ride it would be but just reminds me of how hard a ride it was in my red wagon with solid tires when I was a kid. greg

Lets See Your Replicas of Yours/Your Families Cars
GLMFAA1 replied to Platerpants's topic in Model Cars
Here is my replica collection. The Chevelle is the Revell 67 but my mom had a 66 Malibu with Aztec bronze color. The Ramcharger was made out of the MPC pick up and the AMT blazer. The Z 28 is a combination of AMT and MPC Camaros to get the right pieces. The Jeep is MPC OOB with moons and antenna added Working on 66 Chevelle using clip from ElCamino, 1950 Olds fastback (dad's work car) greg -
Thanks for the info Art, An interesting side bar was the sale of a GT 40 at Barrett and the ding bat announcer stated it has the 'bundle of snakes' exhaust which were on the DOHC not the regular V8s the tuned pipes did converge at collector boxes like The DOHC but they were not the bundle 'bundle' greg
