Did this one when Monogram first released the 427 Cobra, Used the MPC Korean Jeep, Tamiya soldiers, gumball from JoHan PD car, the Revell 59 drop top passenger, and Peggy Lipton Mod squad figure. Updated weapons with MPC 440 cop car guns, radio pack from jeep kit, made home made California plate, I had Military police logos on the jeep and arm patches but jeep is marked USMC, so I suppose they should be shore patrol (SP) If anyone can correct me let me know if they would be SP of MP's greg

Paint Strippers - What to Use?
GLMFAA1 replied to pbj59's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I just tried purple power and like the results, Just soaked over night a model I painted in the 70's and tonight the paint is at the bottom of my container. I use a Scotch pad to remove the rest. I was an oven cleaner advocate but the purple power has sold me, It was on sale at AutoZone last month Don't know what the shelf life of using it is, but I have stripped 3 models so far and it still works greg -

Now that you mentioned the die cast I'll tell you my tale. My brother and I have a mutual friend that is a black shadow fanatic. He recently had lung transplant and as a gift from my brother he thought he would build the RoG (Matchbox) kit. well lo and behold his skills weren't what he thought and gave me the project complete with missing parts. I scoured the internet looking for other kits to get parts and I came across the die casts on Ebay. I thought I could mix and match parts to detail up the model. When I got the die cast from a seller in England I was impressed with the detail but it was also missing the part I needed for the model. I contacted the seller and she graciously sent me another Black Shadow free It took about a month for shipping across the pond and when a month past I contacted her regarding the shipment and she sent a third Shadow to me. :) Now when my brother presented the model to our friend he gave him the model box with a partially built kit inside with the excuse that the model was beyond both our skills. Our friend was appreciative of the thought and effort and said he would finish it. I said no we would finish it and took it back. We did this at a breakfast get together and we had the waitress bring out the die cast Shadow with our orders and she asked 'who ordered the Black Shadow' and presented the a die cast to him. In the end my brother got back his model along with a die cast shadow and I have the third in my collection. Thanks for letting me share this here and I appreciate your diorama. greg

No dumb questions just dumb answers right? To put your question in real life if your truck bed is 8 foot. In 1/24th scale the 1/25th bed would be 7 foot If you use 1/25th scale the 1/24th bed is then 9 foot. greg -

Found this in an aviation model website that I found interesting. NASA has Humvees that they are using as 'rovers' in Mars exploration experiments on earth and this person is building one using the Revell 1/25 Humvee. What is interesting is that the real ones have Mattrack conversions and the modeler is attemping to replicate the Mattracks (remember it's 1/25th) http://www.arcforums.com/forums/air/index.php?showtopic=273412&st=0 I got the plans for the ambo body from him enjoy greg
