  1. Hi Michael, Thanks very much for your answer and the pictures. Sounds good, looks good, so it seems to be worth the money. Thanks again, take care, Juergen.
  2. Hi M.W., Can you please tell a bit about the quality of the resin parts? Thickness of cab walls, smoothness of surfaces, any bubbles and the like? How about your experiences of trading with the supplier? Was it easy to trade with them? Did all go smoothly regarding the payment? How did they pack the parts? Thanks, Juergen
  3. I used photos from a German tractor museum for reference material, it was never meant to be a model that represented a working vehicle Hi Geoff, Would you please tell me which tractor museum it was and where it is located? Thanks very much.
  4. Jordan, Thanks for your explanation.
  5. Andy, The underside of the truck looks great. Nice detail and just a bit of weathering. I'd probably go for the brown wheels and the ring. Please forgive me the dumb question but is it beadlock or bedlock ring and what are they for? Thanks, Juergen
  6. Hi Andy, Wow, the truck bed and the things in it really look great. May I ask whether you scratch-built the truck bed, the metal basket on the driver's side and the parts in the bed or could you buy these? Anyway, also the locks for the side compartments are nice. Would like to see an update or some more pictures. Take care, Juergen
  7. Jürgen, Thanks for the info on the tires. The treatment with the brass brush is an interesting hint. I have to try that in future. Thanks again.
  8. Hi, Jürgen, Thanks very much for the detailed explanation for producing the grille. I understand all the steps you performed. Can you please state what tires you used on the truck? Did you make them yourself or did you buy them (and where from?)? Thanks again, Juergen
  9. Jacob, Thank you very much for your elaborate explanation of your rusting and weathering steps maintained. I also watched a couple of the recommended videos. I learned a lot. I wouldn't have gotten the idea to use hairspray so that was interesting and new to me. Thanks again mate. Take care, Juergen
  10. Wow, Jacob, the rust and weathering looks gorgeous! Can you give a word on how you did it? A ground layer of rust or red-brown paint? Did you use salt grains and brushed them away after another paint layer? This is one battered work truck, I really like it!!! Take care, Juergen
  11. Got it! Thanks Greg.
  12. Jürgen, Thanks for your reply. No problem, just take your time, I'm not in a hurry. Thanks
  13. Greg, Thanks for your reply. But the domed part of the wiggle eyes lack the lattice-like structure which the real headlight glasses have, is that right?
  14. Hi Jürgen, I can only repeat the chorus of praise, but you certainly deserve it. And you're right with having a lot of work on the resin parts of A.I.T.M. I especially like the color combination you chose. May I ask what you used to substitute the grille bars and headlight inserts? Did you post a thread in the W.I.P. section? Thanks, Juergen
  15. You all might laugh at me, but to be honest I don't understand what part of the wiggle eyes you use for what. Is it possible to get some more explanatory detail, please? Thanks, Juergen
  16. Mark, Thanks for your reply and thanks for sharing! Juergen
  17. Jay, this thing is simply amazing, at least for me. This is one great battered ol' tow truck. Would you please tell me in short words how you did the rust and weathering? Did you use salt grains or any special washes? How did you make the rusted-through holes? Did you grind the plastic from the back and broke out little pieces? Again, great work (I'm a bit jealous). Take care, Juergen
  18. Wow, Mark, the rust and weathering looks gorgeous! Man, it's simply amazing! Does it still roll or will it sit in the weeds of a diorama? Juergen
  19. I did so, thanks very much. Good luck and all the best for your surgery, Juergen

    PM

That sounds pretty easy, even for me. Thanks to all of you! Juergen

    PM

Hi all, Can anybody tell me how and where to make a so-called PM (Personal Message)? Thanks a lot, Juergen
  22. Tom, Thanks very for your reply. It's really nice of you to offer your material on the Weaver Auto Crane. Last year I travelled some states of your great country and in New Mexico I happened to have the opportunity to make a couple of pictures of an old Ford truck with a Weaver Crane in the back. I found out that pictures can be a help in replicating a vehicle or a certain part of it. And even more helpful are lots of pictures from different angles. But I also found that a couple of dimensions can be the key to the right proportions of the part or vehicle. To cut the long story short, yes I would appreciate your offer to send your information. I certainly can give you my email address but unfortunately I don't know what it means to PM you. So, if you can clear the fog I'm in regarding this PM I'll get in contact with you. Thanks again and take care, Juergen
  23. Hi Mark, I'd like to second the proposal from dino246gt. For me it seems easier to cut out the center panel and maybe cut away the ends with the glue marks. At least it's easier to sand and maybe putty the glue marks then. To install back the center panel with the letters doesn't seem to be the biggest problem. It might be a bit more work but it's most likely worth the effort. Whatever you do, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you to overcome this obstacle. Take care, Juergen
  24. Dan, Thanks very much for the info.
  25. Wow Dan, This is certainly a great looking beast and the Mack DM 800 seems to be appropriate for such a load. I'm excited to see the whole thing finished. May I ask whether the blue tractor with the trailer loaded with two transporters is a Dodge Bighorn? Can you please tell me where did you get the hood adornment or did you do it yourself? Looking forward to your next update. Thanks, Juergen
