  1. The wheels and tires are a set of So-Reals that I picked up off of E-Bay (I think thats the only place to get them anymore, and then they only come up once in a while). B&L Resins has them in resin. I think B&L has them listed as 44's (a little bigger than the 38's on the real JEEP). The work pretty well with a 1.20 scale rim (I used a set of So-Real Boggers on my Hi-Jacker FORD Van)
  2. Heres another one for my wife..... For those that think its a liitle out of scale, here is the real one.... Yes its her JEEP, I dont like the thing. She said she wanted a JEEP, she found this one, and I bought it for her a couple of years ago. Its mainly a street queen though. I have my serious wheelers, so I let her keep the thing (and she lets me keep all mine). Anyways enjoy the CJ, it started life as the Monogram kit. I added in the suspension lift and So-Real Swampers. Rims are a little off, but its close enough....
  3. I like those rims. I told my wife we should black out the car and she said no, but I might be able to talk her into something like that. for the cover, i just snapped a pic of the real car and used a flat piece of styrene. Cut it out and rounded the corners and it looked close enough. On another note I bought the sequential taillight kit for our Challenger, and all I can say is they are awesome on this car. The main reason my wife wanted a Challenger is because she used to have a 71 that they used to race. I will have to get her to dig up the pics and post them....
  4. O.K. so a little back story here. I normally build rock crawlers/trail rigs (1:1). My wife says we need a car, so I ask her what she wants. She tells me a Dodge Challenger. Not the RT or Hellcat though. I find her a 2014 SXT plus.... Only 11k miles and owned only 7mos. So in true modelers fashion I find a model of it... The model started out as a RT, but I matched the engine cover thats in our SXT (3.6). I used actual auto paint (Dodge code PBX=Jazz Blue Metallic Pearl) which is the color of our Challenger. I think it turned out pretty good. Anyways thanks for looking and any comments will be welcome (even negative ones, they will help me build better models). One other thing, if you ever get a chance to drive one of these cars (either the SXT, RT, or Hellcat), do it. i love our new ride. Even with the smaller engine it flat out hauls and we get 25/26 mpg out of it
  5. Who makes it? Might have to try and find one myself....
  6. Where did you get the grill? I see M.A.D. all over the place but no other reference. Whats it stand for? Your build looks super and good to see the 73-75 FORD (with the correct grill).
  7. Tire/rim on the left. Most realistic to me....
  8. Nice. I just bought my wife a 2012, and have one of these kits to build when the car gets here.
  9. Nice work. Love the chop on that....
  10. Nice work. Im doing this kit right now. I have added a lift and some resin swampers to mine though. Still finishing it up.
  11. Nice build. I wish there were some early Ranger kits out there (83-85). I have a built up 1:1 Ranger that I would love to build a model of. May have to try out my styrene skills one of these days.
  12. Here is my take on the Firestone FORD from AMT. I will add to a micro RC, but this is just the truck so far. I scratched the bed/roll cage and then shortened and dove-tailed the bedsides, cab is stock. I based this build off an old 73, 3/4 ton I used to have (not built like this). First time doing this on my own, and not perfect, but I like it. I didnt completely wire the engine, but added the heater hoses, battery cables, somewhat of a regulator, Old FORD ignition box, brake booster from an old CJ kit with vacuum line an washer res.. Like I said, not perfect and just using thread for the lines (except heater hoses). This is what it looks like on the chassis... On a RC, so I wont go into that here. I went with the Rootbeer Brown (my truck was this color) and overall, Ive had a lot of fun doing all this (still looking for the resin 73-75 grill. I seen them on a website, but didnt mark it). Will definitely help me do more scratch building in the future. I am working on the front bumper, with winch, right now. Thanks for looking.
  13. Having just recently having to start Hemo Dialysis (trying to get my Peritoneal port working)and having to sit in a chair 4hrs, a day, 3 days a week, I havent had the energy to get out to the garage and work on my 1:1's. Sitting at my modeling table helps me get a small taste of what I really want to be doing. I will soon be getting a kidney/pancreas transplant (hopefully, have been on the list since 2010, and the hospital is hopeful), I will really be out of any kind of strenuous activity for a while. I have been buying models for this re-hab time. It will let me "get away" for at least a little while. So for me its a little escape into what I would rather be doing. I dont build as nice as some of you, but my skills are improving. So YES, it is a therapy of sorts for me.....
  14. Very nice build. Always had a thing for the Nomads.
  15. Ive recently picked up the Firestone FORD, I have a snap tight Blazer on its way, and I just got my resin Early Bronco. Hopefully though I will be getting a good start on my 1:1 Samurai Rock buggy. I got sick after I got it in the garage and its been on hold (shot kidneys). I start dialysis training on 1-5-15 and the Drs. keep telling me I will feel a lot better (mainly fatigue). Im on the kidney/Pancreas transplant list (have been since 2010) so hopefully that will pan out this year as well (I will have to take a handful of pills twice a day, but no more shots(insulin) and no more kidney problems. I also have a 69 Torino, a couple of C-Cabs (Little Gasser and Lil Cement Mixer) and a couple other kits started, but something to work on while Im healing up
  16. I just bought one of these.... http://www.ebay.com/itm/301433055421?_trksid=p2059210.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT I also picked up one of the firestone pickups at HobbyTown today. Might just do a straight build on the Bronco, but also may add some Losi Micro RC stuff to match my 1/10 RC axial Bronco..... I did the interior on this one from scratch, so some actual modeling was included.
  17. One of my Mixes of 1/24th scale and Losi Micro crawler..... Here is is with my 1/25th scale F-250 (both are finished ..... I need to chop the last pic....
  18. This is my wifes JEEP.... So does that make it a girls car? And she drives this.... More than I do. Of course I drive this a lot..... And it usually gets called the "grocery getter" or the "soccer mom mobile". It wheels well though (running 35's and locked front and rear). I also have a 87 Suzuki TinTop that I daily drive (its built up as well)
  19. BLOODBANE

    Detonation

    That rocks. Very, very nice....
  20. Watching this one. I did the Courier a few years ago. I went 4x4 with mine as well.... my "helper" (it seemed like I did all the work though)... I did a mix of model and RC (Losi micro crawler). Had a lot of fun with the courier and its still going strong...
  21. I got this today..... No plans yet. Gonna go in the stash for a bit.
  22. That paint is flat out AWESOME.....Nice work.
  23. Here is my 69 GT Torino from High School..... Paint is accurate to the real car. It didnt look like much, but man that car would run. My Samurai.... Not totally accurate to the 1:1 (this one is a convertible, and has BOGGERS) My 1:1 Zuk Currently working on my wifes 84 CJ7 The 1:1 She wanted a JEEP, I was throwing money at my Zuk, so I told her to find her JEEP. Thats what she picked. I want to do one of this truck... My styrene skills aren't good enough to make the body though (84 Ranger). I still own this truck and love it. I put a 347 Stroker, C-6, Dana 20 Transfer case and Explorer axles in it. Lockers front and rear.
  24. My wife and my Aunt are both Cancer survivors, good on you for this build...
  25. Very nice. Clean, and nice detailing....
