  1. It looks like a definate improvement. I like those cragars on that car. What kit are they from? It looks like you were missing that side piece before you stripped it.
  2. Wow! those wheels are incredible! Great to be able to see how these kits go together.
  3. Bill, I hope everything is going well for you and your mom. I just wanted to check in and say thanks for showing your work on this kit. Incredible detail! I love how you got the seats to flip forward in a realistic maner. I for one will be waiting to hear how everything is going.
  4. Aaaahhh, this is the Porsche in that color. Looks great! Great job on the CF. Man, I would hate to try to put those on without some sort of a template. Any progress yet?
  5. I also like the two-tone. So where are those rims from? I like those regardless to wether or not you use them. They remind me of Probe GT wheels.
  6. That looks really sharp. I really like that color. How are you going to finish the wood? Once I figure out a way to do mine, I might build it myself. Keep us posted, I'd like to see what you are going to do with this one. Marcos- So are you saying you put the wood on the outside of what is molded in?
  7. Those look really sharp. Did you have to polish those to get them so shiney? Great job on the application. Are you going to run a wash of color on the insides (like in the letters "HEMI")?
  8. Well glad to virtually meet you. I am in the same club as Tom Dillion. I am sure he would love to say hi. The avatar is modified from a drawing done by Eric Brockmeyer. We went to school together and are still in touch. He is selling prints of this one on his web site in the store section. Great guy, and if the name doesn't ring any bells, check out his website. http://www.brockmeyerdesign.com/
  9. Thanks. The wheels are from the R/M 70 RR. The front tires are some older Monogram rubber Michelins while the rears are Monogram NASCAR tires. Hey Jim, just a question, are you in any way related to the company called Good Stuff? Thanks again,
  10. Sorry jbwelda, I will try to take some pictures. I just figured that if you had a Dremel, you would be familiar with the piece for holding the cutting stones. It is a common piece as it holds several different styles of cutting stones, wheels and sanding disks. They are held on by a screw. I just realized you can put more than one disk on at a time.
  11. I remember my dad helping me when I was too little, then, when he didn't have as much time to work on them with me (he had to work 2 and some times 3 jobs), I decided to start building them myself. While I have older children (or step-children) that are not into building, they have built a couple. Now, my daughter, who is seven, has not only built a few, but now takes her own photographs. It was funny I saw this post as I just put them on my computer. Not saying she wouldn't pass up a car for a Barbie, and all her cars have names and talk to one another, but she does like the time we spend together doing this. Take a look at her pics, I don't think they came out all that bad. So not only did she build these, but she set them up & took the pictures. I was surprised when I saw them on the computer. Not bad for a seven year old.
  12. Thanks, but the candy purple didn't cover the flames very well, and then it also fell off the hanger (since it is die cast) and messed up the green in places. I found this anlong with a merc at a clearance at a KB toy store and picked them up for $1.00 each! they are close to 1/24th scale, and had police markings on them for what ever collection it was from. They are die cast and have no motors or interiors. This is where the merc is (still not finished). I was just trying out that krylon color flip paint.
  13. This was last years same kit club build. We were issued a sheet of decals. This is a 1/24th(?) Hot Wheels I repainted to use the decals on. Too bad the paint got all messed up. I hope you like it.
  14. Thanks, it was Duplicolor Avacado.
  15. Just a little something I threw together to look like a weekend(/street) racer. The chassis is from the Challenger TA kit. Thanks for looking.
  16. Well, this was my last "nearest completion" one I was working on (and my favorite). This was my last project (sold it as it looks). But now I am driving this...
  17. Just shows you can't buy taste. ...What I really want to know is.....what is the deal with the dolphin's back side on the hood?! :?
  18. I did this one a while ago, but since I am new here, I thought I would share. This is another club build from our club. This is a fun kit, and I thought I would have a little more fun with it. Just to be different, I swapped the motor out & replaced it with the front subframe and motor from a Beretta (kind of like a Fiero). This is the turbo option. Once I looked at, I realized this would actually move the center of gravity forward and could help handling. Thanks for looking!
  19. Ditto. I would love to see this car finished. I really like your work and love your subjects.
  20. Wow that is cool! I love the color. Very clean. I am in awe over you BM skills. I think I have seen some of your work before, but the BM on the door, where it wraps around the edge of the door, amazing. Thanks for the pics. I'll be looking for updates.
  21. That paint looks great! That orange pearl looks more like a rainbow in the sun. Great smooth & shiny finish. What you can see of the motor looks good too. You will have to keep us up to date on your progress.
  22. While chopping the top on one of my 32's, I decided to try to use my dremel (as my saw was broke). While setting it up I noticed that the cutting stones I use are about 1mm thick. So I had a thought. I stacked three of them on the mounting screw, tightened them up and took a wack at a scrap piece of plastic, and sure enough, the hole it left was 3mm wide. I can now say with confidence that I chopped the top of my 32 Ford 2 scale inches (as I only used two). Seeing as you only make one cut (not two) the two pieces fit back together perfectly. It saved me a lot of filling & sanding time. Just thought I would pass that on.
  23. Wow! Thanks Harry. I do agree with both of you on the 69. That is my personal favorite. My first thought was to make it Shelbyish, but since everyone in my club (about 15 that have kits) is working on theirs, I thought I would try a little different route. I must say that I was definately looking at changing the tailights. In fact, that was what started my thought process (remember the concept car for this one?), as the existing ones remind me more of the 70 than the 69. This does follow Jairus' comments about redesigning to death as all the mods are just subtle tweeks that wouldn't require major mods. My problem now is, how do you put anything in the trunk now that the gas filler is mounted on it? Jairus- I like the idea of the fender top creases, and having owned a couple 72-74 Chargers, you'd think I would have caught that. I wish I would have thought of that before I painted it. I did manage to catch the raised center on the hood, and I think that made a big difference. Thanks for the comments guys.
  24. I am glad this section is here. There was one started on another board that got shut down pretty quick because of "band width" :? . And boy did I get yelled at when I mentioned they could get some professional artist to post pics (apparently, some are banned for life) . Anyway, I have been doing architectural rendering for a local firm, and figured that since I love cars so much, why not start doing cars also. So far, most of them have been for 1:1 cars (I have a friend who does great metal work) and working with what they have and want. So here are a couple of pieces of my work. I just need to get this digital thing figured out. The scans never look as good as the originals. There is a lot of talent here, and it is great there is a place we can see some of it.
  25. *>>>Scroll down to see finished pictures<<<* Hi everybody. This is my first post here. I have been looking here around for quite a while, and seam to like the atmosphere here. Anyway, someone else from my club has posted pictures of his Mustang, so I thought you might enjoy seeing my idea. Since my first idea was already taken (darn Saleen), I decided to go a step further and try to get the new Mustang to look more like a 70 than the previous attemps. Here are some sketches of my concept. (I hope this works!) Since it has been a while since this project was started, I will skip right to the current pics. I choose to go with the original grabber orange color and will have the flat black scoop, tail lights and front spoiler (you can almost see it sitting below the front end.) It will be powered by the Super Stallion motor, looking more like you would see from the factory (less chrome ). Let me know your thoughts as I am not a "Big" Mustang fan  . I'd appreciate any input. Thanks,
