  1. Here is the results from Duplicolor DE1622 Chrysler orange. First had black then gray and lastly white primer.
  2. I went ahead and ordered the Duplicolor Chrysler Engine orange paint (DE1622) and will share results of a spoon test when it comes in if anyone wants to reference. This is different than the commonly available Chrysler Hemi Orange paint (DE1652). https://www.napaonline.com/en/p/DC_DE1622
  3. Ah thanks Snake45 I will definitely check that out.
  4. If I see someone holding painted spoons next to an engine block at a car show you can count on me friend buying lunch/dinner/beer...
  5. That’s actually for painting a body/exterior color even though it’s called Hemi orange; not the correct engine color for a Street Hemi block. It’s confusing.
  6. Thanks I saw that thread but wasn’t definitive although kinda helpful. Sounds like this is the most popular preference: 1) Testor international orange 2) Model Master Chevy Red 3) Duplicolor Chevy Orange Didn’t know if anyone else had something closer ( or willing to share their secret mixing recipe). Will check out the Rust-Oleum Fire Orange too.
  7. Hi i think I’ve read every post on this site and on 1:1 sites but none seemed to nail down an answer . Most turn into debates about body color instead of engine color. I am trying to find the right Street Hemi orange to paint a 71 Hemi engine block ( the reddish orange hue). Do most mix their own? Order a can from Mopar performance/summit racing? Anyone use Rust-Oleum Fire Orange? any best practices appreciated. Thanks
  8. I am an F1 fan and have also been watching. It is good timing as it’s right before the new season but still relevant to lasts’ where you remember the details. Almost a documentary of last season and behind the scenes; agree though might have been funded by Liberaty media. But if there is more fans then more coverage and more access at least to the US viewer base.
  9. Agree the paint job is amazing and color looks like it matches perfectly. Do you plan to do the SF70H?
  10. Some Menards home improvement stores have the California air 1 gallon on clearance for about ~$75. As stated they are very quiet.
  11. It’s got lots of vendors and I’ve picked up some good deals before. Lots of entries and a great raffle where you can win kits or tools with the money going to charity.
  12. There is also the St. Louis IPMS in September on the 8th. IPMS Gateway
  13. The color combination looks real nice. Your yardwork also looks very nice.
  14. It does look like Damon will be Carroll Shelby and Christian Bale as his driver. The 24 hour war was pretty good and I think it’s still on Amazon if you have Prime.
  15. Hopefully the effects and story telling will be as good as Rush. https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/james-mangold-direct-ford-ferrari-project-fox-1081866 sorry is this should have went in off topic
  16. Me too. I have never seen one in person but when I see a picture I always say that shouldn’t be able to float. Just amazing the size and carpentry back then. Hopefully you read or heard of Ian Toll’s Six Frigates. Only a chapter in but great read all around. I use to have some vintage Vespas like Allstates, Sprints and PXs but all sold when I moved.
  17. Liberty Media was the group. Not sure of their funding but if they bought NASCAR too they would have rights to almost all racing...
  18. Glad I read these during the day time. Thanks for sharing. i also heard Kecksburg, PA is similar in stories.
  19. Thank you both. R&D is the one I was thinking of and will keep an eye out. Twocats looks nice as well and will try and translate a message over.
  20. Passed away on Friday the 13th http://www.chicagotribune.com/entertainment/ct-radio-host-art-bell-dead-20180414-story.html
  21. Hi wondering if anyone remembers who cast and sold a Ferrari breadvan? It was a transkit to pair with a 250 GTO. Haven’t found anything in last 2 years online.
  22. Yes coming up in a couple weeks and it’s twice a year http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/130549-2018-mmva-shows-stlouis-mo/
  23. Thanks; I’ll use your Camel Porsche as a reference . I do have an airbrush and will try this out with different color washes.
  24. That is great. I asked in another post how to create the effects you did. Do you have a build log or can share details like how to make the grime and give it that dirty finish? http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/28667-race-weathering/?tab=comments#comment-1891067
