  1. Makes you wonder why they are such giants in the business.
  2. Oh ok, that makes sense with the double square headlights. I've been blinded by the awesome paint job.
  3. I'm workin on a couple of stock eliminator card. Nothing fancy, some detailing. My big detail build is my Cannonball entry, a 56 Nomad. NASCAR suspension, twin turbo small block. I'm gonna try to do a bunch of detail. I spent a 2 weekends back halfing it. I'm sure I'm gonna spend the same on the interior. Good thing I have till the end of November to finish it for this contest. I want it to be right. I've also stepped the detail on my truck builds. I spent 3 hours doing the wiring on 1 of the engines. When I see someone do amazing detail, try different things to accomplish something, I say to myself, I can try that, or I can do that. Some of it amazingly simple, it almost dumbfounding how simple. Valve stems on a truck rim, just a .030 piece of wire and hole. I can't believe I've never even tried.
  4. Agreed. That was the last race I really watched. I'm not NASCAR fan, but I would watch a every now and then till that race.
  5. There shouldn't be problem makin your bottle brackets out of aluminum. As long as they can do small stuff. It can be done, Tim(Codi) proves it every update. I just caught up on his build, WOW. Between yours and now his, I'm almost scared to even try building a car. It will never be like either of yours. These two builds inspire me and probably others to try and be better at our own builds. I've used that same brand of filler and have the same opinion. It is way better than Bondo. It's way easier to work with. Again, awesome update and great work.
  6. I just got caught up on this. All I can say is WOW. My lord, I worked in machine shops. I can really appreciate the amount of work you have done. Excellent work, VERY impressive!
  7. I just noticed you switched the steers out for Revell.
  8. Welcome Hector. Right now I'm taking a break from the Hemi Dart. It's not a very difficult kit to build. What makes it Level 3, is the drag version. There's extra parts, some body modification is required. If you get your self a Drexel and a pin vise, you'll do just fine. I'm building mine the drag version. I'm not doing anything special to it, so no build thread. As far as tools besides the 2 I mentioned already, look in the tips, tricks section. I can recommend getting a decent set of brushes, from Hobby Lobby is fine, my set has 10 different brushes, I Pais around 10 bucks. A simple set of plastic drawers to keep things organized, kinda. I bought my pin vise from HL, then went to Harbor Freight and bought a set of small drill bits, I really don't know what I was thinkin not having this tool in my box. Go to the auto parts and get you some sand paper. I use 400 grit and up, anything else is too course. If have any questions, feel free to ask.
  9. Nice start so far. This will look really cool.
  10. Very nice, looks right at home in the snow.
  11. That 1/16 wrecker is really cool. I like that. Well, I like em both.
  12. I wonder, this old cab has curves. A regular Texas bumper might not look quite right, IMO. Maybe a modified 377 bumper, it has some taper to it, it's bent around the sides, hhmmmm. I can hook you up with 1 or 2, if you want, to experiment.
  13. I'm gonna have to look into those. I need those for my John Force transporter.
  14. I hope if you build it, you build it turbine powered. Great score Mark. I finally have my Bill Signs Pete in my possession. I felt like a giddy school boy when I saw it when I got home, along with parts for a couple drag car builds and the hubs for lowboy restoration from Kurt. It was a good mail day for me.
  15. Oh that is me, just gotta let more people know it.
  16. Awesome dash work, as usual Sean.
  17. Lookin good man. This is definitely gonna be a beast.
  18. Looks good man. Makin some nice progress on this.
  19. Looks great Chuck. Awesome job on both.
  20. Welcome to the forum.
  21. Everyone is doing some fine work. I've been really busy with work and other "easier" projects to pass my free time. Up next on my Nomad is to get the interior squared away.
  22. Stupid spell check. I fell in love with them when I 1st saw this prostreet Divco.
  23. I put a Detroit in my DR. It fit with little issue. The CAT would be a great upgrade, if it fits. The paint work looks great. I'd paint the lower cab panels, bumper, fenders and tanks black.
  24. I've heard calling them works. I called once, answering machine picked up. Started to leave a message, when porky pick up. He did say he's not involved in the business much anymore and would relay that I called. No call back but an email was sent a few days later explaining the mold for the fenders I wanted was damaged. Issue was resolved, and parts eventually were shipped.
