  1. This would be nice. I think since they have or at least had, licensing from Great Dane, a GD flatbed might be feasible. We can hope and wait to see what they have up their sleeves in the coming years.
  2. So much for flying cars and predictable weather.
  3. I made all of the fenders on my tanker out of stainless strip. It doesn't have the rolled edges, but look good. This link is to the page of that build I did the fenders on. It's not super in depth, again, any questions just ask. I buy my visors from Rhino's Truck Parts. I've made a few out of styrene, I used a piece of wire to get the angles of the rood, then eyeballed it from there. I can dig up pics of those if you'd like, to see how they came out.
  4. I agree, I interesting stuff.
  5. Today's birthday average for 10-1, is...45.42
  6. i wish. Well maybe not. I gotta work this saturday, so nevermind.
  7. I haven't given up hope yet. Im still here. Who knows, the final hour may get me motivated.
  8. Uuhhhhhh.....? All I can say is awesome.
  9. Awesome. That seat looks great. I'm also lookin forward to seeing the lathe.
  10. Lookin really good. Your off and rollin.
  11. I've been using Testors putty. It's ok. I've also Bondo spot putty, it's works too. I don't what truck your building so I'll post a what I have. The AMT and Revell would lower basically the same way. Here's the Revell KW I built, the one from the pics of the stretching. This I flipped the leaf springs. If your building a Revell snapper, Pete or KW. The air bags are stepped. Just cut a little at a time to get the stance your lookin for. Here's how it sits. Here's how I lowered my Moebius Prostar. I cut the axle blocks off. Cutting the axle blocks is the same idea for all of them. I don't have any pics of the cut shackles. If need a pic of that I can take some this weekend once I have a truck in front of me.
  12. As for lowering, I do it a few different ways. 1st, I grind off the "axle blocks". Then, if it's not low enough, I will cut the leaf spring shackles. I've only done this once, I cut the springs off completely, flipped them, creating a de-arched leaf spring. I can dig up some pics if you like. Feel free to ask any and all questions you may have.
  13. For me, now this is just suggestion. The 378 mixers out here are a bit longer wheelbase. The water tank sits behind the cab, then there's a bit more room. But, all the mixers out here also run the big steerable booster lift axle. Your doin a fine job none the less Terry. Glad to see your gettin a few things done.
  14. I've been wondering who would attempt this. These trucks have intrigued me since I first heard of them years ago. Can't wait to this develop.
  15. The thing with that truck, it doesn't work very much anymore. It's 98, the family owns a hay business, the trucking is family as well, but, the trucks are owned by indidually. The cat that owns this truck, works in the office and goes out on sales 90% of the time. That truck hauls a load or 2 a month. But, yes, hay doesn't tear things up very much.
  16. This might be a good thing to bust my slump. A short time frame build.
  17. Hey, if nothing else, recycle them. I know papers value isn't much, but you'll get a little something and help the environment. Since its thing to be now, GREEN. Just a thought.
  18. Awesome work man. I'd stay in that truck. The interior looks great. Lookin forward to seeing more.
  19. I've got the same problem with keeping old mags. I have a 20 year collection of National Dragster. I was gonna go through them and keep the ones with articles of importance, races memorial covers, anniversaries of races and what not. I also have a large collection of 10-4 magazine, a truckers mag. They have a centerfold of the cover feature. Those I just rip out the center, usually toss or give them to someone who's lookin for reference or back issues.
  20. I'm gonna have to get some of this stuff. Looks great.
  21. I didn't have a truck there. It was nice to just walk around, hang out with people I haven't seen in a while. Showing a truck is A LOT of work. My company asked if I wanted to drive an antique down there, any one of them in the collection. I passed this year. I didn't want to work on my day off. Maybe next year I will or maybe my work truck.
  22. Here a few of the reference pics of Maggini #13.
