  1. Any time soon, I should mask for the second color.
  2. I found one 401 valve cover in the stash so I cast another one.I also cast two front cover/water pump assemblies from the 66 Riv engine as well as an intake manifold. I purchased a 3D printed intake pack from fellow member Chris Drysdale. Buit up the Showboat oil pans to work on a vertical engine. In the dragster, the engines are inclined.
  3. One will be done as a 401 from the early sixties and another one will be done as a hotrod engine with 6 Strombergs.
  4. They were from the Tommy Ivo Showboat kit. One has been put back as a Showboat engine.
  5. Thanks Carl. It won't be one of the four in the first post. I have a couple of light greens I want to try with the airbrush.
  6. Toyota 3M, as found in the Toyota 2000GT. From a gift by Gary McNutt. SOHC 6, 2.3L/ 175hp.
  7. Andrew that engine is absolutely sensational!??
  8. First coat of white is on. I have to be very careful not to be too perfect, as people might think I didn't paint it myself.☺️
  9. Began masking the two-tone pattern. Any idea why they tell you to paint the lighter color first?
  10. Thanks Bob. I'll do some trial fittings. Did it happen only with the first one? Were they different editions?
  11. The chassis is ready for the engine. still trying various paint combinations.
  12. Glad you like it Sanny. It almost was lime green. I think I like it better in champagne too.
  13. Thank you keith,Gil,anders and Carl.
  14. I ordered both the Tamyia primer and clear this morning. Now if they don't work together, I am retiring from the hobby. ?
  15. I have had it with schizophrenic paint. The last few times I used Duplicolor primer, it crazed the plastic so I switched to Tremclad. It worked well on the Porsche 918 I just completed. So this time I used it on my spoon tests. The first clear I used turned flat at each coat. So I switched to Duplicolor Acrylic enamel clear. First coat looked great but two of them dried not so shiny. So last night I gave them a second coat. This morning, two of them had wrinkled. If I had any hair, I'd pull it out.
  16. These little doodads on the spindles will make a good base for scratchbuilt fuel pumps.
  17. Time for a pickup. Selected this one. Started assembling the chassis.
  18. Tom, it looks like you have the room to store the 1:1 versions too.
  19. Fabulous or is it fabulously fabulous? ?
  20. A nailhead intake package, a 4JZ V12 (What if engine), and a tall, skinny employee for FTB.
  21. The kit was great. The fit is incredible, things fall into place. Only three items worth mentioning I couldn't figure out how decals 38 and 49 fit so I did not use them. They forget to tell you to paint the recesses in part 89. I found that out after it was all together. It is a bit dicier to paint then. I had to clamp the body down to glue it to the chassis, the rear kept springing back up. Either I had something that didn't allow clearance or the chassis plate was arced.
  22. Thanks Dann.
