  1. Looks good Ray! Any photos with the hood on, even though the engine looks super in there?
  2. Thank you.
  3. While it might be covered up, you'll know it's been done....well!
  4. Nicely done model. Engine detail is great.
  5. X2......RIP.
  6. Looks great! Could you tell us the body colour please?
  7. Sure brings back some great memories from back then. My 1st kit was a '59 Ford Galaxy 2 door ht with the thick metal axles and no engine. Like lots of others, I put as many decals and skirts, pipes spotlights etc that was in the box. What did I know? I think my favorite kit was the '39/'40 Ford tudor sedan. I musta built a dozen of 'em! Learned to swap engines, wheels and tires back then (1960 or so ).
  8. Does anyone know if he's O.K.? Haven't heard from him in a while.
  9. That's a real beauty!
  10. That ended up being really cool! Looks good as a pickup.
  11. That's a terrific looking model! Very nicely done. I like the driver's side window position.
  12. I too, like the end results! Well done sir! Thanks for your time to show us the steps on this (and other) tips!
  13. Thanks fellas. Found it in the same box that I packed my '30 woody in when I was moving....4 years ago!
  14. These were made from the little cars on the tops of AMT trophies. Left to right.....1)Just painted with flames 2)Removed fenders to make a "highboy" coupe 3) Some filing and strip styrene to make a pickup truck 4) Same idea, only made a primered panel truck From valve covers....5)A black roadster with red upholstery 6) A black phaeton with red upholstery The last 2 both have REALLY TINY windshields and I used styrene rod for the wheels / tires. My 1/25 Lindberg '34 is there to reference the scale. Just having fun!!!
  15. Went to check out the new "Hobby and Toy" store here in town. The model car section was pretty well stocked, and lots of paint selection as well. The manager said they were still getting things in, as they only opened recently. So while we lost one hobby shop ( in June), we gained another in May. Go figure. Prices seemed typical at "Toy and Hobby", so I may have found a much closer shop!!
  16. Wonderful....exudes total class! Love cars of that quality!
  17. Wishing you well with the final assembly Ray. It looks terrific!
  18. Always like a car with "stacks" coming out the hood!!
  19. I started with 1/25, stayed with that for a long time. Then I tried 1/24 and really liked it. I've built 1/32 stuff but not much to swap, especially wheels/tires and engines. I don't know what they are in scale size, but the "trophy series" little cars on the trophy were just fun to mess with. I'll post them sometime. 1/16 scale would be a good challenge (mostly for the detail you could add), but take up too much space.
  20. Looks very cool! I like the name also.
  21. Well, today I went to my painting place for the 1st time since last August when I became ill. I went in, sat down at the booth, and just looked around for a short while. I was going to leave, but decided to put some paint on the front axle and brake drums of my '34 Ford. It went very well. Then, I thought, while I'm here, paint my camper trailer. So after cleaning out my brush (I thought), proceeded to paint the trailer. Well, NOT MY DAY!!! The paint wasn't flowing very well, then suddenly started to flow big time! Before I knew what I was doing, the paint began running! So, the trailer is in the purple pond!! Fortunately, I'm old enough to realize that stuff happens, and I'll be back to try again.
  22. Wow! That's slick! Should be quite unique.
  23. Good looking Chevy!
