Porsche 911 GT2 (2020 CBR Build)
1/24DragAndStreetCars replied to 1/24DragAndStreetCars's topic in WIP: Model Cars
BNL Resins! This is the #1 Turbo, which has an integrated waste gate, kinda small, but they do have others without the waste gate and in larger sizes. I wanted a smaller one to keep spool times low. Might end up cutting off the waste gate though. Just have to decide if I can fir the piping around it or not. -

I've been looking around at bits. But the kit wheels will suffice. Plus I could use that money to get all the plumbling bits. -
Porsche 911 GT2 (2020 CBR Build)

Did some sleuthing around, and decided to just buy the movie. Here's some shots I have from it. Which, to my surprise, the car is right hand drive! So I gotta do that conversion. I do like the interior though. Although my build will get a passenger seat, and some radio tech. Also found out the center of the wheels need to be black. -
I finally found a car in which I actually have a kit for. And that's the Porsche 911 (993 Body Style) GT2 featured in the film 'Love the Beast'. I plan to have this be a single turbo, basically all tube frame monster, with the exterior sticking mainly to the original. There are only two stills I have found online of the car, which does leave me a bit of wiggle room. My must-haves are as follows: • Yellow Paint. • Yellow/Flat Black interior. • Slick turbo set up with intercooler. • Number 67 sideplates on the doors. I have begin with the engine, as once I get the rear sub-assembly done, I can begin with a bit of the chassis fabrication. Trying to keep the piping as short as possible so as to prevent turbo lag that would apply to a real build. I have also built a heat shield for the turbo to try and keep the intercooler a bit cooler. Also need to make an oil cooler.

2020 Cannonball Run Build Thread!
1/24DragAndStreetCars replied to disconovaman's topic in Community Builds
Already made some progress! Got the turbo all put together, and currently I'm working on getting all the plumbing set up. First picture is the assembled Turbo, along with its filter, and the heat shield I fabbed up for it. Second is the view through the decklid. I will be fabbing up an airbox, along with an intercooler to bring it all together. -
2020 Cannonball Run Build Thread!
1/24DragAndStreetCars replied to disconovaman's topic in Community Builds
Here's my entry! The car is from a movie titled "Love The Beast", and it actually has quite a few nice cars in it! My car of choice will be a Porsche 911 GT2, seen here in the movie. And here's the kit I'm starting with, Tamiya's 911 GT2 road kit, which should be perfect, since the cannonball is on the road after all. The kit was started, but if far from the 25% mark. Plans are a big single turbo, lowered stance, and an RWB inspired wing. -
Hello folks! As the title states I'm looking for someone who makes a '53 210 4 door body. A Bel Air would work too because I have to take the trim off anyways. I'm wanting to recreate my Mother's 1953 Chevy, "Roxy", and tried to do the 4 door conversion myself, but utterly failed. I feel like I saw one the other day, but now I can't find it. Any help appreciated, Joe (Attached picture is the car I'm recreating, along with my mother.)

Whew! Work and School got busy and took up alot of my time each day, but now for a weekend of model work. Here's the Hemi I found. Definitely an older one. I plan on just touching up the original finish where needed. That's how I like things. Nice and original. (Edit: Due to a few cracks hiding under the paint, I have had to remove quite a bit of the finish. Though, it will still be painted the same way, more of like a...tribute.)

So. The Monogram Chevy Six won't work. I was hoping it would, but it just wont work. Lucky for me I stopped by a friend's to pick up some kits he wanted built, along with a box of parts as payment. Inside it was the perfect engine. A nice, Medium Green painted 1st Gen Hemi. With a big 'ol supercharger on top. Perfect. I'll upload some pics tomorrow along with another update.

2020 Cannonball Run Build Thread!
1/24DragAndStreetCars replied to disconovaman's topic in Community Builds
All the builds are looking great so far! I love watching the Cannonball run builds. I wish I had the right kits to participate. I was thinking Thomas Crown Affair, but when I dug out the mustang I found out it wasn't the right year. I began to look for a 1970 Satellite/Roadrunner for a Daylights end style build and people want a fortune for them! This is another one I'll just watch from the sidelines. -
Working on custom doorcards while the putty on the body and chassis cures. I'm using .080 evergreen stock paired with the Tuck & Roll from the stock cards. The main piece will be steel colored, with the cut out support OD Green, and the Tuck & Roll a light/medium tan leather color Got the insert roughed in. Still need to do final fitting. I think I might do a slot on the skinnier part, I'll do a sketch and see how I like it.

The way I did the front Z stretched it a hair, along with bumping back the fire wall, it has just enough clearance. I'll be running an electric fan set up so I don't have to worry about a big mechanical fan.

It's cheap too! That is, if you have a wide array of parts in your bin. This is just a bunch of junk. I get quite a bit of stuff for free, or next to nothing, simply because they were going to throw it away. If you were to build it "right", buy all the parts, and take your time to fabricate instead of buying everything aftermarket, you could easily build one for $20-30

Just looked through my parts bin, and found the Fuel Injected flatty from the AMT Custom Woody kit. No clue when I got it, but hey, I'm not complaining. I'm debating on what engine to use now. The Flatty would be cool, but the Chevy Six would too. Decisions, Decisions...

The beginning of this kit was about 6 months ago. I chopped the top, grille shell, and that was it, got fed up with trying to fix the chop and so I shelved it. After finishing my OOB Basic build, I wanted to give this one a second chance. With a spin. I love WWII-era aircraft. I volunteer at a local museum, and have always built models, played games, and even gone to the special meet-ups for the Doolittle Raiders at WPAFB. The plans for this are loooow, on Artillery wheels, with a bare metal finish. The engine will be a chevy OHV six, paired to an old mecury/ford three speed, with a four link rear. And as for the rear windows, it will be a "wraparound" style, with some separations to keep it a five window.

I have one of these kits. Still factory sealed after probably close to 6 years. Then again. It does have Mr. Norm's John Hancock on the front of it so I've been keeping it stashed away.
-
After spending a long time working mainly on aircraft, specifically of WWII kind, I have finally ventured back into cars. And boy am I glad I did. I slung this one together in two days.a traditional style Rod with a few modern touches. Perfect to get me back in the swing of things. Already have another '32 5 Window and a '29 A Salt Flats car on the bench. With more possibly on the way...
