These are the wheels I've picked for it, snazzy huh? 'll adjust the ride height in front for a more stock look. Thanks for looking!

Decals on and clear shot! Can you smell the fumes! I managed to find some stock exhaust for it. An attempt to put on three different colored decals. Thanks for looking, comments welcomed.

This is one that I originally built way back in 82 or 83 and sat on my shelf for a long time. Then I decided I wanted to repaint it so into a bath it went. This had to have been around 2000 or so. Yesterday I was looking for something in my storage when I ran across this and decided to get it back together. This will be just a straight rebuild of the original MPC kit with new paint and aftermarket decals only. Nothing fancy like swapping out the frame for the 71 Charger frame or anything like that. Originally painted some weird green I reshot it with Testors' lacquer go mango. I had just put the aftermarket decals on and I honestly do not remember where I got them from. They are the multi layer (each color is a separate decal) type that was available from someone back in the early 2000s but I don't think he does them anymore. The decals were very delicate so I have put on some setting solution and once I get the road runner decal put on I'll clear coat the body to protect them. I discovered Keith Marks makes decals for this and I almost thought of ordering a set of those but I did have these already so.... The totally incorrect 440 six pack engine! I will need to find some stock exhaust manifolds for this because the original build had Jo-han Hemi headers on it. Thanks for looking!

The stance is off because of no interior or firewall in it. I believe the frame is warped as well so we will see what I can do with that during final assembly. I am thinking a white seat interior for it.

I over thought the fix for this one. I just grabbed some sand paper and sanded down the bad spots, then shot it with Tamiya metallic black with a clear coat from testors. Lots of dust on that last picture! Thanks for looking, all comments welcomed.

Got the frame done on this beast now. Thanks for looking, all comments welcomed.

The maroon 68 has morphed into a flame red one! I had so much problems with the maroon that I chucked it into the pond and bought another kit. This is the paint job after a dip in the pond as well. The 68 turned out to be a problem child. I have some hood clearance problems with the air cleaner that I will fix. Thanks for looking, all comments welcomed!

While looking for inspiration on the internet, I spied this 69 Hemi powered sublime green charger with rally wheels. So I just had to build it! I have some wide BF Goodrich Radial T/As and rally wheels coming from fireball model works for this. I just started on this one so no frame or running gear done yet. Thanks for looking, all comments welcomed!

Yeap, they are fine. I just got side tracked by other builds because I was attempting to figure out what color I wanted to paint them. I think I'll paint them Nassau Blue. Thanks for the interest.

Frame is done!

It's coming along nicely. I have the floor flocked in charcoal grey (cause I did not have any black) and the seats are in. Engine is in the frame along with the exhaust and rear axle. I'll be showing pictures of the completed interior and frame when I get them done :-) I repositioned the rear axle on the rear springs to better center the tires in the wheel wells. Something I did not know about when I built the 69.

I broke down and got a new one the other day along with some Testor's Revving red. I was quite surprised when I saw instrument decals on the sheet along with a neat set of red line tires and some nifty Crager mags! Red lines and Cragers, hum. So sixties! Backing plates are painted with Mr. Color #3 red. Here it is with the paint finished, Testor's Revving Red with clear coat. The chrome air cleaner base is from the Revell 68 Charger kit. I am using the chrome round air cleaner from the 67 on the 68 to give it the look of a stock 426 Hemi equipped car. Thanks for looking, all comments welcomed.

My original 67 GTX, started back in 2002. Painted with auto touch up paint, I polished it out but then the hood cracked big time. I threw it in a box and got another. 17 years later, I'm looking at my collection of 67 GTX/Coronet parts and started playing with this one. I figured I could repaint it and use the upscale interior from the Coronet 440 for it. I even got some wide Goodyear tires for the rear using the slick backing plates that come with it. I will need to fix the new paint as well! It is painted semi-gloss Testors' lacquer and there are some bad parts on the fenders and a little on the hood. If I can get the body acceptable I'm thinking of Blazing black on it. BEFORE AFTER instead of giving the body a bath in the purple pond I'm thinking of attacking just the bad areas with some of the cleaner on a rag. I'm not out anything if it doesn't work and I save some time if it does :-) Thanks for looking, comments welcomed.

I shot the Tamiya paint over the blue metallic color of the plastic it was molded in and I think that gave it the candy look. I really like this color on it as well!

Painted Tamiya TS-11 Maroon Interior will be either black and white or maroon and white. Still got some fixing to do to the body. Thanks for looking, all comments welcomed.

This is one I started back in 2002. Originally I had painted it with auto touch up paint. Did not like how it turned out so got another body and finally painted it with Tamiya TS-54 light metallic blue today. Thanks for looking, comments welcomed!

Final paint for body and wing, what do you think? Thanks for looking, all comments welcomed.

I got tired of moving this box around so I decided to start it :-) Painted Tamiya TS-35 Park green, the rear wing will be semi gloss black along with the black tail stripe. Engine is from an AMT 68/69/70 Road Runner/GTX/Super Bee kit. Interior will be basic black for both. Thanks for looking, all comments welcomed.

I wanted to work on something bright, so I got out this 70 Charger for a quick build (I hope). Painted Odds & Ends sun yellow with wet look clear coat. Thanks for looking, all comments welcomed.

This AMT "Old Style" Chevy was Odds & Ends French Country Yellow with an Odds & Ends white top. Body was then clear coated and Bare Metal foil applied. I used the kit decals for inside the spear. Interior is painted a custom mixed shade of yellow with white seat inserts. Engine, wheels and tires are from the AMT 55 Chevy pickup kit. The driveshaft is an aluminum tube while the kit supplied the U-joints glued in the ends. I used a piece of wire and bent it to achieve the lowered nose and I couldn't resist putting in some Photo-Etched speaker covers. All in all a very fun build. One of the first models I completed after getting back into modeling in 1995. Thanks for looking!

Thanks for all the suggestions on how to fix the window frame, I think I might use the tape/epoxy method and then BMF or Chrome pen the frame after the window is installed.

Started way back in 2002, it is painted with some Testors' enamel green metallic that I don't remember the name of, but like the color. I was never happy with the black stripes but you know, it's either get rid of it or complete it, so I'm going to complete it. 440 six pack from the kit. I had to trim the inside of the air cleaner to fit and also trim off some of the transmission where it fits in the crossmember to get it all to fit properly. I've waited so long to get this built, the windshield frame has bowed. I am hoping I can straighten this out when I put the front glass in. Thanks for looking, comments welcomed.

I do love them though! Very thoughtful of Revell to include instrument decals and door lock buttons, that got broken off of my example. I have the Cadillacs as well and they are really great too. I really liked your hardtop and you did an excellent job on that one. The one thing I did not change on mine was the cowl overlap in the engine compartment. I can't seem to get a picture of a real life one, but the kits have the engines sitting back behind the cowling whereas the real ones have the firewall even with the cowling. A small discrepancy on realism but maybe Revell did it for molding purposes?
-
Thanks for your comments, I really appreciate them. While I would love to do more detailing on the interior, I am at the point where I just want to get this one done and off the bench. I do have another unbuilt kit of this, the one molded in blue. I might attempt to do something like that on the other one when I get around to it. I think Revell went overboard on this and the 60 Impala kits. The 60 even has separate window cranks and arm rests! Someone could spend a week on these interiors and still not get everything detailed!

It's been so long ago, but I think that is Tamiya bright aluminum with a clear coat.
