  1. Very cool, but the 2-seater's too ugly for me. I have a couple of old limited-run 1/48 kits. Come to think of it, maybe three. One is the tall-tail F (which still exists and flies), one the bubble-canopy one, and one I want to do as a French C in Indochina.
  2. Sweet! and you got a hood you don't have to fill holes in! What kind of wheels?

  7. A lot of great molds died that way. It is so very sad.
  8. I just checked completed sales on eBay--a LOT of nice Vega promos changed hands in the last 30 days for about the retail price of a current model kit--or less. That's a good deal in my book. If you want a stock Vega, that's the way to go.
  9. Very very most extremely way cool, and also badass! I've been planning to build Toys II through VIII (except maybe VII), now I see I'm gonna have to add IX and maybe X to the lineup. I can see a lot of these being built as street freaks and pro streets, too. I'll be buying at least a couple! Also, the BBC might not be completely inaccurate. I believe the Toys book makes mention that Grump would swap in a BBC "mountain motor" for match racing--I'll have to doublecheck on that.
  10. I interpreted it as "One Monte Carlo to envy." But I could be wrong.
  11. The Monogram 1/12? I have a vague recollection of those selling for $19.95 in the days (late '80s) when the typical model car was, what, $6-$8? Maybe it was $29.95 but it wasn't anywhere near $60 or I wouldn't own one.
  12. VERY nice! One of the best builds of this kit I've ever seen. Really captures the look and feel of these asphalt monsters. Well done and model on!
  13. Very nice, all of them! The Novamino was particularly impressive.

I wish the stuff I built when I was 12 looked that good. Model on!
  15. Yah, if the paint's in good shape, I'd be tempted to just Snake-Fu it and put it on the shelf. I've worked with worse, I tell you. Drive on!
  16. He got a full ride. Don't believe I've ever heard anyone say anything bad about him, either.
  17. I looked twice more and I still don't see it. It's not on the instructions, either, and the decals don't seem to make provision for it if it's there.
  18. And it looks like all four wheel openings have been enlarged, too. Yikes, that's an expensive hot mess.
  19. I buy paintbrushes in big bags in the craft section at Walmart. These bags have two or three small brushes in them that are worth the price of the whole bag (which is less than some stand-alone small brushes). Maybe they're not as good as first-tier brushes but they do a good job for a reasonable amount of time and use and are well worth the very modest cost.
  20. Not from where I'm sitting, no.
  21. Excellent review and pics, Tim, answered just about every question I had. About the only improvement I could suggest would be, I wish they had offered both the small and large rear spoilers.
  22. Agree about Warren Oates--AFAIC he IS Dillinger. Got interested in seeing this movie again but it's not on Netflix. Found and watched a few clips on U2be--it's kinda corny by today's standards. Dunno if I could sit through the whole thing again.
