  1. Thank you, David. Here's some more pictures.
  2. Just completed...This is one I'd wanted to do for a very long time. I always loved the movie "Funny Car Summer", which featured Big Jim Dunn and his radical rear-engine Barracuda funny car. I never got to see this car run in person. Nevertheless, it was a groundbreaker during the golden age for the class. The original plan for this was to use the chassis from the AMT Piranha model, but after I took a hard look at it, I decided that it wasn't going to represent the actual car very well without a lot of modification. So I scratch built the chassis (with the exception of the driver's roll cage) and tried to gather as many photos off the internet to get the chassis as close as possible to the real thing. I used Speed City's M/T rocker covers, and Calnaga Castings Enderle injector as well as their Halibrand quick-change rear end. This was the 2nd resin body I used from Competition Resins because the first one basically melted in brake fluid after my first failed attempt at clear coating. (Note to self: Do NOT try to strip a resin body in brake fluid again!). Anyway, I hope you'll enjoy it. And as always, comments and critiquing are certainly welcome. l
  3. Wonderful build, Chris! Love the fact that you didn't put the body over a stock Revell chassis, but opted instead for the more accurate Johan chassis. Nice touch, and great attention to the details.
  4. Looks fantastic Brad! As I said at the Canyon State Modelcon show, this is my new favorite of yours.
  5. Nice photos Mike. The cars in this contest were incredible!
  6. Fantastic build, Jim! Great job on this!
  7. The inaugural Canyon State Modelcon is only 2 weeks away! I'm hearing that the raffle will have tons of Tamiya kits, supplies and other goodies offered. I've seen the builders choice awards, and they look great. Along with a nice lineup of vendors, I'm sure a great time will be had by all...!!
  8. That just looks fantastic Brad. Great detailing in every corner of this build!
  9. Simply outstanding, John! It never mattered to me that the real car was never successful...it was still one of my favorite dragsters of all time and you've done it justice with this fantastic build. Congrats! BTW Chris, you have some serious skills when it comes to Photoshop.
  10. Really nice-n-clean build, Bill. The clear red looks great!
  11. C'mon by and enter some, Dave. I've seen the awards. They are very nice looking. Because it's NNL style, voting for the winners will be done exclusively by the contestants themselves. To me, it's way more gratifying to be recognized by your peers than by a few judges, or by the general public where the results could be skewed.
  12. Tim, if this was a 1/16th build, I'd be very, VERY impressed. Being that it's in 1/24th (1/25?), I'm totally speechless on how awesome a job you've done.
  13. Excellent detailing work on that engine & chassis Steve!
  14. I think this is in 1/25 scale Chris (at least that's what the box indicates).
  15. I always enjoy your vintage builds John. Love the color and the choice of rear wheels/tires.
  16. Looks really nice, Chad. The stance is perfect. Any pics of the engine bay?
  17. Wow! Awesome Jeff! I just got those decals from Slixx. Gonna be tough to top your build, Sir!
  18. VERY cool..! Nicely done Jeff.
  19. Outstanding build, Jeff!
  20. Thank you all, Gentlemen. Your comments have been very much appreciated! ?
  21. Super-clean build John! I like your engine swap and the paint is great..!
  22. Looks even better in natural sunlight, John!
  23. Bump...
