Looking for someone to build a custom cage
NYLIBUD replied to outkast1027's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Yea,that sucks.I had a guy who used to sell me a bunch of Diecast prostock roll ages.Eg.The Jegs cars...I lost his number too..Seriously,They make pretty good roll cages, but u might have modify the cage a litle..I hope that's no cheating, but whatever. He used to gut the car out, selling me the cage/chassis,motor,shifter,etc..Anyway,maybe u can try that. And sometimes it works and fits like a glove, and there's some that won't fit,no matter how much modifying you can do,which is not too much..But let me tell u,there's some guys on here, that can do wonders with Styrene.and drag cars.Oh and the Diecast/plastic cage is built with a funny car style cage. And If u find someone, please tell me,and I will do the same, but for now, like I said,no real offers.Ive even asked some guys if I can buy their whole drag car,and then modify it myself.I mean, again, there's some guys on here that build the most incredible door slammer,outlaw,,10.5 cars.,but I never get an answer, and that's cool.I mean they built the thing,ha.So now Go make your own $&%%#%.drag car, lol, which I guess that is the point.?.Good luck again.I'am actually looking for some one who can build a basic roll cage for this 66 Pro mod Nova, made up with a 3D printer.Pretty wild stuff. And then I tried building this black insane, blown Nova. The car flys...A friend of a friend actually knew the guy running that car.He said,he's seen it run a few times. The car cuts a low 6s,in the 1/4 mile. -
Looking for someone to build a custom cage

Hey Outkast,I tried asking the same question.I was asking if anyone could make a roll cage for a Nova..Just to let you know,no body answered my question.I was offering to pay for it...Good luck. -
Great job.It basically looks like a box stock ride.Nice color too

Finally, thanks TDR. (Pro mod 66 Nova body)

FYI,if you are planning to buy one of these bodies, just hit the website above. The only thing is,that the hood and hood scoop are on the car,and need to be cut off.I mean of course you can go crazy, open the doors, remove the hood, and cut out the trunk.Once again,I'm not ashamed to admit it,I'm really not the best cutter in the world. But I'll try.Or I might just build it a"curbside"model. But I guess before I do anything,I gotta prep the body,as the guys above me,have thankfully explained how to do.Can you believe that pink Nova is Larry Larson,in the same Nova he's been racing in all this time before he was shattering track records all over this land.Larrys car was not only fast,it was perfect looking. The stance of his Nova,is wild.I Call that a super Nova. Thanks fellas. -

Thanks Monneyzs...Yea the body is pretty wild.I read some info on line about how 3D printers actually work. And your right it's done in layers. What an invention, they can make anything with these incredible machines..Anyway,thanks for all the tips.Yea,this car is going to have a ton of sanding, and filler primer..I just hope I don't screw it up. -
Finally, thanks TDR. (Pro mod 66 Nova body)
NYLIBUD replied to NYLIBUD's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Ok,so the Nova finally arrived in the mail. The body is pretty wild. However you were right Crowe, the material, and texture of the car are very weird,to say the least. It has circular lines through out the body.It certainly doesn't feel or look like resin. There is definitely going have to be a lot of sanding and filling.. -

So I was supposed to receive the Nova Kit in the mail today.Well it wasn't there. So I checked for some info from my tracking number...And that's where I read this very stupid reason,it couldn't be delivered.Apparently the driver could not delivery the package due to some BS ferocious animal that was supposedly lblocking my front door.So I said WHAT!!.I don't event dog,and while there are a lot of dogs on my street, they are all leashed up to there owner.I'd like to meet this beast of a dog roaming around out side. However that would be impossible, because there is none. Its Like the search for Bigfoot.Welp I hope I get it tomorrow.Maybe if I see the mailman,I'll try to find out what had happen and what the deal was with Friggin &@#% Cujo? -

NYLIBUD replied to Jmaracing's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Wow,what an excellent build.Great job on all the details.Mean looking,and fast,just the way I like em' -
Check out TDR,and Shapeways.Shapeways is the company that actually does the 3D printing..Again the car is not resin. The surface is a bit rough,I heard. So there will some sanding needed.I ordered the Pro mod 66 Nova.I'm looking forward to receiving the model.Ive never worked on anything created by a 3D printer.I hope it comes out pretty cool.So you can Google TDR,or Shapeways, and you should be able to find a lot of information on this Nova,as well as other pro mod cars, they create.
