  1. Hey Tom, these engines are cool, and have seen these before, but display space is pretty tight for me. Thanks for sharing. I noticed that some of the Liberty engines don't have fan belts, is that the way they came? Cheers, Lance
  2. Bill, are these all 1/25th scale? Cheers, Lance
  3. Tom, loving that tow truck, wish someone would do a modern light duty tow truck in 1/18. Cheers, Lance
  4. Very cool idea, Ray. If I may make a suggestion, either rescribe the door lines to meet the upper part of the Vette door, of fill in the lines so you only have the Cobras door lines. I would also suggest that a protrusion in the front might be easier to blend in, but I would extend the rear quarters just behind the wheel opening, using another Cobras rear end section to do it. Just a suggestion. Looking forward to this projects completion. Cheers, Lance
  5. Hey Guys, even though this contest was last Sunday, I thought I would post pics of it. I didn't know about this contest, until my Buddy sent me the info on it today. It fell on the same day as the monthly Diecast show I attend, so chances are I would not have gone since my tables were already paid for. It was the first contest sponsored by Los Underground Kings(never heard of them) model club, and was called "Scale Junkies model show" at the National Western Stock show complex in Colorado. Those who were looking for a model car club, might want to check it out. http://scaledworld.net/scale-junkies-show-2015-coverage-by-fathertyme-photography Cheers, Lance
  6. Hi Mike, I purchased one of these kits, and it turned out great. You can check my "Barn Find" 1/18- 69 Camaro, under Diecast cars section. It is in a powder cake form, with an applicator. I scrapped a little out into a small plastic container that I saved from dipping sauce, and added just a touch of water. Then I used a fine paint brush to apply some rust in certain areas. I also scrapped some "dirt"( I think that's what they call it) from the kit into a very small spray bottle, and added some water, mixed it up, and sprayed down the car to add years of dirt falling on the car. When I was done, I did put a coat of dullcoat on the car just to make sure it stayed put under handling the car. Cheers, Lance
  7. Thanks Tom. The kit, is maybe all I can afford, since I recently retired, and am watching my pennies Thanks again for posting this. Cheers, Lance
  8. Beautiful, Tom! I was just checking this one out on the Diecast Pub. Is this the Tom's Garage version? What was retail on this one? I was hoping for a parts pack from this release of the leaf spring straight axle setup. Oh well, I guess it could still happen Cheers, Lance
  9. Looks good Thomas, but the marker light needs to be centered in the stripe. Don't forget to cut out for the marker light. Cheers, Lance
  10. Cool Tom! That's one of the things I love about modeling, it's being able to scratch build whatever you need. What kind of heat source are you using to solder your brass joints? I have a hobby mini butane torch, but have yet to use it. Cheers, Lance
  11. Thanks Nick, yes I do love first generation Camaros! Are the Camaros you mentioned, Diecast? Cheers, Lance
  12. Thank you, Dennis. Cheers, Lance Here are a few more. Cheers, Lance
  13. Thanks Tom. I'll have to pick one up tomorrow I think it was $24.95. Cheers, Lance
  14. Tom, can you show a pic of just the paint stand? It sure looks like the one I've seen at my local Hobby shop, but I could swear it said for 1/24th scale on the box. Didn't want to spend the $$ if it wouldn't fit 1/18 bodies. Thanks. Cheers, Lance
  15. Thank you, Al. Cheers, Lance
  16. She came out sweet Tom, nice job! Hey, is that a modified paint stand? Cheers, Lance

  19. Thanks, Tom. Cheers, Lance
  20. That's what I use, the Aircraft klean Strip paint remover in both spray, and paste form, but I agree, not the same results everytime. Cheers, Lance
  21. Hey Guys, I did this 1/18- HWY61 69 Camaro barn find, as a experiment in weathering. I purchased one of the Tamiya weathering kits to try it out. I removed one wiper, added side door glass, bent the drivers door down to represent worn hinges, has one taillight, and one headlight, and removed the marker lights. Bumpers were removed, as well as the rear license plate, and color mismatched parts were added. As it came out OK, I decided to add a trailer, from GMP. I scratch built a winch, with a hinged boxed cover, and a battery with a cover as well. Added tire stops, and weathered the trailer. Cheers, Lance
  22. Wow, Tom. That paint stripper looks like it works very well! Nothing left in crevices requiring scraping, or reapplying? I Look forward to the finished product. Cheers, Lance
  23. Good job! But there is one key element missing....a driver cheers, Lance
  24. It does look familiar?? Weird, but it looks like the grille is in back wards? Cheers, Lance
  25. I remember these 57's long ago at Walmart. Very nice job! cheers, Lance
