  1. Hi, Got the engine all wired up etc... I'm going to get some fine tip gold pen to finish up the tires as the decals were not large enough to fit. I had to strip the chassis as the top coat showed sink holes that I coudn't see via primer. So I sanded and sanded and have some filler/primer on there now. I coated with Future to see if a shiny surface would reveal flaws as a flat surface seems to hide them. Even though the body looks pretty good, I'm waiting to apply another top coat however I've ordered the Donn Yost DVD and will wait until it shows. I've screwed up far too many builds and need some help so I'm excited about the DVD.
  2. Hi, Wow, wonderful showroom. Very very nice.
  3. Hi, Ahhh yes but what I gleaned just now is how seemingly over complicated it has become to simply drive a car as fast as one can w/o wrecking and hopefully finishing in the top. Even eating has gotten complicated.
  4. Odd, I guess I misunderstood Wikipedia on her. Thanks for the correction.
  5. Hi, Awaiting decals. Didn't turn out quite like I wanted but it will be done is all that matters at this point. Still unsure about the wing so I didn't glue it on yet. A huge learning experience.
  6. Hi, Well I've 2 options. One is a cocktail mixer which looks like the Badger unit except I've many more attachments for various mixed drinks of sorts. The other is a Robart paint shaker. Both have there value and uses, very happy to have them.
  7. Hi, So 1 more or so final wet coats? The paint is pretty thin by the way. And I've thinned it a bit more to slow down the drying.
  8. Hi, I've done my top coat were I started 2 mist coats followed by 1-2 wet coats of decanted Tamiya pure white lacquer. A week has gone by and I'm finding myself needing to do a few more coats. Should I do as if starting from the beginning were I apply 2 mist coats followed by a wet coat?
  9. Hi, I agree even though I don't follow racing even 50% of the time. I think it'd be cool to see her back full time in Indy.
  10. Hi, That's too bad. They should have given her a few more seasons. She has done much better with Haas since signing in 2016 then her previous team.
  11. Hi and thanks all for the replies. I went with what I had which was Tamiya Pure White. It's pretty darn withe!
  12. Hi, This really should be displayed in a museum or somewhere for public viewing as it's perfect.
  13. Hi, This to me, is one of the best driving songs of all time.
  14. Hi, Entertaining article, a quote; The authors would not speculate as to the reason for the decreases, but a survey they conducted in 2013 of 618 respondents between the ages of 18 and 39 found that the primary reason reported for not having a driver’s license was that people were simply too busy (37%), followed closely by the cost of of owning and maintaining a vehicle (32%), and the ease of getting a ride from someone else (31%). I don't understand the too busy part contributing to not having a DL. However the 31% I underlined is telling meaning perhaps they still live at home. Monsignor Bill, blame the parents for coddling and over indulging them. My generation, generation X is mostly t blame which is ironic as we complain about it a lot.
  15. Hi, Agreed. I modified my order after it was placed and he said no problem. Very very cool, I'm excited!
  16. Hi, I like Mr. Lutz. But I don't have to agree with him to like him. I've a few of his books that I plan to read. Besides opinions are like brown eyed Suzies and every one has at least 2 of em.
  17. Hi, Let me know if you want my tires as I don't think they look bad. They actually do look good, just a bit small for my taste is all. Not an issue. PS I'll send em free, just PM your addy.
  18. Hi, Well I took the plunge and ordered as his FB page seemed pretty active. And good news, i got an email that its in process etc... This should enhance my memorial build a good bit.
  19. Hello Captain Kirk, Wow, great project, I love it.
  20. Hi, Sorry for the clutter. Curious if any one has done a transaction as of late with IndyCals? They have really nice stuff. I've sent a few unanswered emails which is fine as email is never 100%. Just curious if it's safe to purchase from them.
  21. Hi, Well I think they are the weakest part of the kit as most domestic kits seem to suffer from the same fate. I snapped a few photos for you.
  22. Hi, Would you happen to have any of the Daytona as modeled by Monogram?
  23. Hi, WoW, this is turning out super hot, I love it!
  24. Hi, I got tired of this and simply lined the carpet with a carpet chair mat.
