  1. Hi and thank you sir.
  2. Hi, Very true. I suppose a good way to gauge it would be by some one who carries both kits and has seen them in person Or simply from some one has seen has seen both in person. I used to buy from island Collectables and he had a similar sentiment about the two offerings. Perhaps call him up, his site is till up with his phone number.
  3. Hi, Wow Plamoz seems to have an AWESOME set for the 918, very very cool. The guy does these reviews is a very very excellent modeler. I've seen a number of his vids, top notch for sure.
  4. Hi, I had the Renaissance and sold it, seemed a hand full for my skill level. If I were to get another mkIV, it would be the LeMans Miniatures version as I think it's body looks better. This is not to say that the Renaissance kit isn't awesome, because it is. But the LMM kit looks a tad better.
  5. Hi, Yes of course I'll PM you. Odd about my mail box and it looks like one can only empty the entire thing and not specific messages. I've got messages from Ed I wish to keep. I'll send a quick message to the site admin and see if they can increase my mailbox quota.
  6. Hi and thank you Bob. Yes, he was always pleasant, just the right brain chemistry.
  7. Hi and thank you very much Mark, Andy, Vince and Scott for your sentiments. Very nice of you all to reply.
  8. Hi and thank you monsignor Ace. I contacted PRS and the kit is discontinued. If I were crazy, I suppose I could buy the Rennaisance kit, make a resin copy of the body and go from there. And then I'd have a cool kit to build as well. But my wife would murder me. But I'm not crazy am I? What would my dear friend CrazyEd have done? I'll have to channel him and see
  9. Hi and thank you Mike and Paul. I'm touched at the sentiments but not surprised. Man he was cool.
  10. Hi and thank you Bill. Have you tried that Chrome/Firefox plugin which allows you to view PB pics from free accounts? I'll try and report back.
  11. Hi and thank you sir.
  12. Hi and thank you for the kind words JC.
  13. Hi, Ah yes, you remember. Yes and he's been a long time member of this forum. His photography was first rate as was his taste in race cars.
  14. Hi and thank you sir.
  15. It is with great sadness that I post the passing of my friend and my art director for builds; Ed Erbeck Jr, he passed quickly and w/o pain. I actually met Ed here were he reached out to me because of my interest in Chaparrals. He was a Chaparral nut case! We quickly became friends and now on occasion when visiting this forum, I have a tight feeling in my chest as it reminds me of him. I became dependent on him for his opinion on builds, wheel/tire combo, color combo etc... which I no longer have. But most importantly I've lost a friend. He was of the highest caliber as is his dear wife Carol. I'm grateful to Ed for having reached out to me and becoming my friend. Carol wishes to give this community, his friends, an opportunity to buy some of his treasures. Message me off list for his rather impressive collection of race car related books and kits. At first I was going to simply post a list but do not wish to violate forum rules.
  16. Hi, So my long term project is a Ferrari 308 Gr.4 style car. It's front end is seemingly borrowed from a Porsche 935 K3 and I'm finding it very hard to impossible in finding even a slot car body to pilfer from. Does any know of a cheap source/slot car body of a 1/24 Porsche 935 K3? Here is a pic of my near future 308 Gr.4 project, you'll see that its neither the Tamiya 935 kits nor the Italeri/AMT 935 kits. Looks very very much like the K3 front end.
  17. Hi Ron, Ooooo that look snice!
  18. Hi, You know I'm really liking Rustoleum Painters Touch 2x gray. Goes on super smooth and covers like a mofo. Practice a bit to get a feel for the paint flow. Cost is ~$4 at HomeDepot etc.. It's enamel so takes a day or 3 to fully dry but man, very smooooooth. Problem is the nozzles tend to clog even though they are supposedly self cleaning. So buy a few nozzles as they are cheap enough and swap out when needed. In fact I sent an email to there support and they are supposed to be sending me a bunch of nozzles so we'll see.
  19. Hi, Does any one have a good source for Studio 27 fromage other then eBay? Seems like a decent amount of price gouging going on. Thanks in advance.
  20. Hi and thank you Monsignor Dann, I PM'd you.
  21. Thank you sir. I was having a grand time polishing the windshield as yes, your methods do indeed work. It was looking sweet however in the finishing stages I totally cracked it in half! No biggy, I made some from Evergreen. Thank you sir. I'll snap another pic or 3 soon.
  22. Hello Sir and thank you. Thank you for the kind offer however you've been generous with me with that F40LM kit so I cannot really ask for any thing more. BTW are those wheels on the #08 car the Longchamp XR4?
  23. Hi, Lotta work although it may not look like it; - Added 1.5mm to rear fenders - Cut open rear engine cover - Sanded the many mold/seem lines that appeared after a few coats of primer - Added front oil cooler opening - Added front and side skirts - Refurbished a Revell 308 engine - Covered head light and louvered front sections I've pretty much settled on HRM Ferrari comp wheels/tires. I also drilled out an extra exhaust hole as there was only one.
