  1. I dunno guys, Harry has amazing results, looks perfect to me. I think it's all in application but then again I'm just starting to use the stuff. One thing for sure, it smells good
  2. Check your Home Depot as well. I see em on sale now and again for like $25. Harbor Freight sux bro. I've bought enough stuff there that was single-use-and-chuck that I'm like fo-get-bout-it.
  3. Oooooo nice!! I've both of these kits as well. Looks like you added metal intake stacks? The engine looks cool.
  4. I think there was some on Umm-USA; http://umm-usa.com/
  5. Welp, I dipped my head light covers in it and placed on a paper towel to absorb drippings. In terms of pooling, I kept a close eye on em and used a paper towel corner to get more access when needed.
  6. That's very interesting. Well Tamiya acrylics are technically solvent based; ie alcohol. So could the cracking you've experienced be due to it not being fully cured? I'd think true water based acrylics like Vallejo would not cause Future to crack.
  7. Man this thing is a stunner. The green really accents the silver and gold. Super classy.
  8. Good point, Too bad I already have the Revell one. Welp, I'm no stranger to slice&dice I sent an email to HRM, hope they can sell me just the hard top.
  9. Wow, I love the hardtop in Bills reply. I wonder if the HRM hard top would fit on a Monogram Cobra kit?
  10. You built this in 24, or rather 12 hours? OMG, try like at least 1,200 hours for me! Looks cool. Is this a Revell or ESCI kit?
  11. You know, not my go to subject matter but I REALLY like this one. Totally cool. I'm starting to appreciate and enjoy this era/genre of build more and more.
  12. Yep, I'm trying it now. Very cool work flow and no rush. I brush on a section or two, dab the access with the brush once I wipe it on a towel, put the brush down, ponder life a bit and continue. I watched a Dr. Craky vid on air brushing it which looked easy enough but prefer brush painting, more zen.
  13. Screw the topic, Harry, man those cars of yours are killer. So pleasing on the eye. It's almost like a nice Gin&Tonic for the eye balls.
  14. WOW, I absolutely love your subject matter!!! Fabulous!!! My favs are the Stutz Bearcat and the Lincoln Model L. The Bearcat is Chitty Chitty Bang Bang-esque.
  15. This is an awesome kit! I bought it for the engine to put in a hopped up cafe racing Porsche 356 project I have planned. Man that Porsche V8 is beautiful!!!
  16. Wow, the bleed thru prevention sounds brilliant, thanks man!
  17. Hello Esteemed Builders! First is first, Happy 4th of July! A historic day in our wonderful country's rich history. At any rate, I've read a few posts about spraying final paint over Pledge Floor Care to achieve a brilliant finish. One should wait a week for the Pledge to fully cure before doing so apparently. While I have no immediate application or need for this, I was curious as to your thoughts.
  18. There is also http://imgur.com/ for hosting. I'm thinking of moving my fromage there as photobucket is getting real bizzy with all there ads and pop ups.
  19. Wow the finish is simply lovely!!! The garage is awesome as well!
  20. Thanks guys! Nice of you.
  21. Thanks man, on both counts. Next time for sure.
  22. Thanks for the compliments. Curious, is it possible to revive yellowing decals so they are clear again?
  23. Thank you for the nice comments. I wasn't sure how it would be received due to the chosen color scheme. CrazyEd, you can look at it as a sort of anti stealth technology
  24. Hi, So as usual I spent a bit of time repairing/fixing my screw ups but at least its getting less and less, down to about 3/5 building, 2/5 fixing. A few big mistakes and at least one that I will no longer do which is neglect to test fit everything. I always test fit only a few parts but never the chassis to the body! Well never again, it all gets a test fitting now. I also had a hell of a time putting on the decals... over what felt like a primed surface. Next time I do a super flat finish, I will spray some kind of clear over it, probably a satin one. Vallejo makes a marvelous satin clear which I will use next time for sure. I wanted to make this model clean and opted to not do the full Martini treatment with regards to the decals. The paint is Tamiya flat white and Vallejo florescent magenta, both air brushed which was my first time doing so. I was have a bit of a tizzy air brushing so I pulled up a few Donn Yost YouTubes which helped me out a lot. That guy rocks! At any rate, still a rookie but its getting more and more fun.
  25. I wonder if there is a dirt racer etc you can pilfer the front section from? Something from the a-pillars forward?
