  1. I'm pretty sure its my low air pressure and have an email to both Tamiya and Rustoleum to confirm. Swirling the cans keeps the bulging down and I think Monsignor Ace was brilliant in pointing out my local barometric pressure as being the culprit.
  2. Bayam! Thanks BigTD. I'd also have to credit Steely Dan playing in the back ground in giving the idea to use double sided tape and the flat end of a tooth pic.
  3. According to my new iPhone combo app which is killer, my current pressure (based on GPS) is 29.488 inHg while sea level pressure is 29.794 inHg. And I am at exactly 285.11 feet.
  4. I'll have to get one. Thanks for the idea.
  5. Brilliant! Practical, compact, portable, cheap. I love it!!!
  6. Hmmmm, perhaps, not a bad idea. Currently 29.87 inHg and falling. Looking up whats considered low, I fall into that category. How does one combat low air pressure? BTW, nice Cali accent, circa 80's that is
  7. That looks HOT! Love those F! Ferraris.
  8. Hi, I got these awesome Corvette wheels from HRM and they have a very tiny amount of flash. How would you go about removing it?
  9. Well, I'm not sure. I do have window coverings so the light is diffused for sure. I'm confident the cold water run will help future endeavors.
  10. I'll swirl the cans as per Tamiyas site. I also emailed Rustoleum and will simply exchange the can at Home Depot from where I bought it. In my case, I may even run em under cool water before spraying. I do have an air brush but like rattle cans as well. I really enjoy having many tools for the job.
  11. Great suggestion. I'll detail up the turbo more. I was thinking the same as I posted the pics, it was like "Hey, I can't really make out that massive Kraco Indy turbo, where is it?" I have zero idea what color to do that turbo in. Any ideas as there is already a lot of silver in that engine bay.
  12. Welp, I've no AC and it can get 90 degress in my room. I'd say I'm about 1,000 feet above sea level. This is my view;
  13. Ok, I redid the chassis/tub as it was bugging me. Although this may not look like much, it's been a lot of work. I'm putting it down for a bit to do a stock box build. This one will be on and off for a bit. I may polish the inter cooler piping a bit more.
  14. They are in my room which is not that warm. I'm on the coast. The cans don't display bulges until I shake em. Do you feel they are too warm to begin with? Perhaps running under cold water before swirling/shaking would help?
  15. Hi, Paint cans always have a tendency to pop and bulge on me. I no longer shake Tamiya cans but swirl them. However my conventional cans pop and bulge significantly. Here is a pic of a fresh can in its first use; Rustoleum Painters Touch Ultra Cover. All I did is shake it for 1 minute. Am I crazy? Shall I swirl everything from now on?
  16. Wow, looks awesome! Killer detail etc... Perfect!
  17. First off, I love the Gremlin, awesome! Do you have a CNC machine etc as you mentioned programming etc... I was wondering how you got those lines so perfectly straight in the Formula Ford? That's such a killer project! Man, this Pinto will be crazy cool.
  18. I've also seen some awesome kits from MFH in there 1/43 line. Seems like ~$150-200 range.
  19. OMG how awesome. Funny my best friend and I were talking on how he missed his restored Gia from high school (80's). How cool a model, nice man!
  20. Wow LOVE the story and the finished product is simply bitchin! Oddly enough my buddy had a small block V8 in his 240, OMG what an insane car. Stock V8 even. It transformed into a BEAST, was able to chirp at will, in 5th etc...
  21. I know right! The body work is super tight, very clean.
  22. Well, this falls to my general argument on why some things are overly cheap while others are priced correctly, simply put; The Walmartization of life Those 1/43 hand made models should be expensive as they represent real cost. We are too used to cheap cheap cheap. This in turn puts many boutique kit makers out of business. My simplistic view anyways. We are lucky to have kits/parts/etc as cheap as they are. As a side note, we can't expect our products to be outsourced/off-shored w/o having our life styles follow suite.
  23. Wow, this is coming along very nicely!
  24. That's super neat! Very unique.
