TwoCats Modelos; Ferrari 350 and 212E Montagna
aurfalien replied to aurfalien's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Give him a shout. He's got an FB page as well as this site; http://twocatsmodels.blogspot.com/ Paulo is very pleasant to deal with. In fact him, Paul Fisher; Fisher Model & Pattern, Norm/Herold; Replicas & Miniatures of Maryland/Historic Racing Miniatures all set the bar by which all casters should behave and operate. -

I wanted to add a few of his others like his Ferrari 206P, 250 Breadvan as well as the aforementioned Ferrari 312PB. -
Hi, I've been speaking with Paulo Fiotti over at his lovely company; TwoCats. He is releasing a Ferrari 350 transkit for the Fujimi 330P4. He also has a wonderful 212E Montagna, both of which I just ordered. His Porsche 908, 910 and Ferrari 312PB look amazing as well. Actually all his stuff looks awesome. Hi is an Italian living in Brazil, total win win for me as I love Italy and I love Brazil; Italo/Brazilo!!!

An Open Letter...
aurfalien replied to Richard Bartrop's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I've seen em all but THE WORST are parents whose kids compete in surfing. OMG they shout and yell and berate there kids for missing waves or doing turns that don't score high. I actually turned to a pair of these outta shape bafoons and asked; "can you catch any waves or do any turns?" And yea, most of em have rubber bands for arms. -
Great info, many thanks!

Hi all, Curious what you make of this box art. Its got 2 cars pictured, a Ferrari 365GTS4 and anther car in the back ground. Is this a; 2 car kit or a kit with 2 options to build or simply misleading box art or am I misreading the box art?

Pretty much done with resin.

Yea I hear ya. Well, if you are up to it, call em. Still, it's effort that shouldn't have to be mustered. -

Hey JT, to add to that list casters that I've dealt with on repeat are; Historic Racing Miniatures Replicas and Miniatures of Maryland Fisher Model and Pattern All 3 have been superb to deal with! I still call and/or email em before hand to see if they have in stock items, are back ordered etc... just so I know how to set my expectations. Like I said, I don't mind waiting. -

Well, I personally don't mind waiting 6 months to a year for a desired or rare piece/kit/subject. Its not like I have to build a specific number of kits per month etc... Any deadline I have are self imposed. I spend more time scouring bloody eBay for my favorite rare kits etc... and I figure if I found a caster who did the kit but took a while, well then I don't have to waste time looking. Besides I'm swamped at work and in my personal life so waiting on hobby fromage is no biggy. -
Hi, I wanted to post my great satisfaction with http://umm-usa.com/ for there variety of tools and customer service. Simply a real treat dealing with em.

I've a set, they are pretty darn cool. They are acrylic paint markers which you clean up with 91%-ish alcohol.

Hi, I assume a razor saw is a razor blade (no teeth) mounted on a user friendly handle? -
1966 Porsche 906 in 1/24?
aurfalien replied to JollySipper's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Hi, FPPM has both long and short tail versions. It does have an engine etc.. so unsure how full detail you wish to get but I think its a great kit. https://www.facebook.com/fernandopintomodels/ The Arii/LS is not full detail and a slot kit of sorts. I'd strongly suggest Fernandos kit. The Profil is not full detail but they make cool kits. PS It's very advanced, the instructions are hand drawn and assumes a certain level of aptitude and experience. -
Hi, Wondering what I can use to make precise cuts in fiberglass? I've been able to use my Testors hand saw to do the big ones w/o damage but it seems one can really mess up the material if not careful. I've some small cuts and wish to not run into problems. I noticed my hand saw had a tendency to get stuck as the fiber glass seems grippy. Would water work as a lubricant? In terms of gluing to various different types of material like Evergreen styrene sheets etc, seems like epoxy is the call? I'm chopping up a slot body cast in fiber glass.
-
Ok cool, thanks for the tip. I'd imagine CA glue or 5 min Epoxy would work?
-
That's a good question. Its a slot kit, unsure what it is. Here it is upside down, what is it?
-
Wow, that's bitchen dude, thanks! I'm pretty stoked at every ones replies for sure. I'm making it standard practice to scan (in the highest resolution possible) my decal sheets when starting a project. You simply never know what can happen. And buying decals are expensive.
