  1. Thanks Ace. The Fujimi kit seems like it has more parts? Which kit would be of higher quality?
  2. Hi, Would any one happen to know the differences between these 2 kits? They seem identical. Thanks in advance.
  3. Thanks dude. I happen to find that one earlier as well. I hope the motor kit includes what that kit has at least. ** Curious if the Aoshima and Ben kits are all the same as Tamiya? They seem so.
  4. Hi, I recommend this mag on Amazon for $2;
  5. Hi, Based on posts found on this board, I bought this paper back cheaply which helped a lot; How to Build Scale Models: Basic Techniques-Advanced Results Its $2 on Amazon which is cheaper then 2 buk-chuck at Trader Joes which is actuallly 3 buk-chuck now
  6. Hi, I've seen this kit pop up from time to time in seemingy 2 versions. One were the box has pictured an electric motor and one with out. Can I assuem they are the same kit? Curious about the kit contents differances.
  7. Cool deal, thanks man. Based on Alumilte info, I refridgerate my A & B resin for about an hour after shaking. I then mix gently and poor a thin stream from a good height into the mold. Seems to work fine but I would prefer a pressure pot by the sounds of it. I simply don't have a real work shop yet.
  8. Must you use a pressure pot? I simply cast and work my bubbles out and assume the pot is to remove bubbles? I'm eyeing the OOMOO 30.
  9. Hi, I was happy wtih Alumilte but ran out and bought PinkSil as it was cheaper. It's ok for simpler shapes like fenders etc... as it dries fast. But for complex ones like engines I'd shy away from it. I was about to buy the new Alumilite Silicone RTV 3 stuff but saw SmoothOn which is a bit cheaper. How does SmoothOn compare in making smaller parts like carbs, engines etc...?
  10. To me, the secret to building a better model has been this board Many real craftman here for sure. I feel lucky to be a member here.
  11. Hi, Yep, I was looking over the directions and saw a teather type deal. Pretty cool stuff. Would be fun to restore as it was 1/5 started but obviously showing its age.
  12. Hi, My mother in laws boyfriend has this old model his father bought for him in 1938 for ~$50. Pics are attached of the instruction sheet but it's for a car called "The Wasp Special". Would any one happen to have info on it?
  13. I'm assuming the Kong remake with Adrien Brody? It was brilliant! The original PB was also brilliant!
  14. Couple favs; The Ref Christmas with the Kranks ... and of course Ben Hur.
  15. Thanks man!
  16. Hi Art, I got some of that Stay Bright stuff and a new iron from JoAnnes for 50% off. My old iron was, well, old as I use it a lot at work for circuit boards/electrical etc repairs... prolly one of the few IT guys that still knows how to repair a circuit board and follow flow charts. At any rate I'll ping back with how well it goes.
  17. ...
  18. Hi, Has any one tried these? I'm going to mount cotton balls myself to see how well it works. PS The reviews are such that the cotton flys apart which makes sense.
  19. I must say this kit by Fein Design is simply killer! I've some of his slot car kits which are fantastic for sure. The only thing is they are in German. But this kit is in English. Also it seems that the kits parts have no flash so it looks like a go and build work flow with not much prep work needed. He had other kits were in my opinion grails like Lotus 40's and Ferrari 512P/612P CanAms, BRMs etc... Simply an awesome model maker for sure.
  20. Wow, that stuff looks darn kEwl! Very very interesting.
  21. This stuff seems interesting; http://www.solder-it.com/shop/item.aspx?itemid=162 Its an all in one sort of thingy; pasty flux mixed with solder in a syringe. I like it, or at least the concept.
  22. Well, if that body is important to you, you may want to invest in an actual hobby paint stripper. I got some dot3 at a hardware store and it didn't even do anything after a week. I think there is a new formulation.
  23. Just rememebr to let it vent for an hour or so once decanted. After no more bubbles exist, you are good to go.
  24. Thats totally killer KB. I love that kind of stuff.
  25. I've decanted chrome spray paint from Michaels and have used that with happiness
