  1. That kit also has the stock parts so you can build it stock if you want, Jeremy.
  2. Jim, how about just cutting the rear side window openings back so they're similar to the standard roofline? I've always preferred that myself over the "Town Hardtop" roofline.
  3. Look a little closer, Steve. There's THREE Skylines in that pic. ?
  4. How about a '69 Torino fastback [Sportback] roof?
  5. Anyway Michael, I do want to apologies for the off topic posts, I really shouldn't have said anything.
  6. OK. This is the part I had a problem with,, " But I don’t see either one of them entering Boyd built cars in shows or getting lucrative colab deals under their own name and doing it only after Boyd’s death. " Foose left Boyds and had a very successful career almost 10 years before Coddington died. You kinda make it sound like Foose worked for him right up until he passed and then picked over his bones to make his name. A knee-jerk reaction on my part maybe, but, hey, maybe I really do know nothing about the subject. ?
  7. Ok, I obviously know nothing about it so I'll refrain from commenting on it any more.
  8. very impressive replica.
  9. There were actually 4 of those orange eyesores built, Bill. An advertising gimmick [gone wrong??] " To celebrate Canada’s centenary at Expo 67, Imperial Oil Canada (Esso) commissioned four custom-built 1967 Oldsmobile Toronados from George Barris of Hollywood."
  10. Yea, I'm thinking the only input Boyd had in that car was to come around and holler at the workers to hurry up every couple days. ? Chip designed it, the rest of the workers at the shop built it.
  11. The Revell 91 Caprices and Impala SS kits would be a great option, wish I had thought of that.
  12. Looks pretty good. The chassis from a JoHan '77-'79 coupe Deville would be correct for this but it would need to be shortened, of course. The Revell Caddy lowrider would also work but probably more work.
  13. I know Rex, I did look at the site. That's why I said in spite of what they said. They must have assumed that just because the Revell/Monogram '65/'66 kits were 1/24, it would be too.
  14. Mike, I may be wrong on this but, in spite of that they say on that website, I'm pretty sure all the Mustangs made of the '67/'68 body style were 1/25. Both Revell and AMT.
  15. When I get the calls that say from "my bank" or "windows" In a soft voice I tell them I'm not aloud to use a computer. they usually keep trying so I say "I'm not aloud to use the phone, they get mad at me and lock me in my room when they find out" Then I say I gotta go, an orderly sees me and looks mad at me again" and hang up Or sometimes when they say there's a problem with my computer I tell them "Yes, I know, I sent it down to them last week" when they start talking again I start hollering at them telling them I need that darn thing back, I'm due in court tomorrow to prosecute another a telephone fraud case and need files off the machine RIGHT NOW !!! They always hang up after that. ?
  16. I've been using it for over 25 years, Len. Took me years to figure out the best way to use it, here's some tips,, I thin it with regular rubbing alcohol. Cleanup too. The cheep stuff works fine. It really needs to be thinned. It comes out of the can like porridge out of a fire hose, heavy and chunky. Multiple thin coats through an airbrush is the way to go. A coat of primer or other flat paint under it is a good idea with bare plastic. It doesn't stick well to bare plastic usually but where you're going over something already painted, it should be fine. It will block dyes from coming up through your paint and will also block hot paints from effecting the plastic under it. Good luck with it.
  17. Looks fantastic! ??? The red paint and 5 spoke wheels really set that car off.
  18. One of my favorite female singers. Not many could even come close to her.
  19. Paul, I don't think there the same windshield but I'm not sure. You could try one from a similar year Thunderbird. The real cars were built on the same floor pans with slight differences like wheelbase.
  20. Ah, OK, I get your point now. Looking at it like that it was a strange move. Sorry if I came off hostile.
  21. So what? They were made to be used on whatever kit you like, not just Revell kits. How many people have you seen post a kit on here with parts from some other manufacturer? Why would AMT sell parts pack whitewall or white letter tires when any AMT kit you'd want to use them on come with them now already? ?
  22. Here's a couple more pics. The old chassis was painted black and the cat was molded in black. I don't see any difference in color or shine after spraying.
  23. Starting the rebuild of this '77 Volare Road Runner I've had for years. Getting a bit more radical with it but not too radical. Hemi from the reissued '76 Dart Sport. Intake manifold from the MPC '69 Charger Daytona and blower and hat from the Revell '68 Vette. It will be slightly tubbed.
  24. I've only sprayed is 2 days ago but it's already pretty durable with normal handling. The Revell parts with factory chrome I'm working with right now are scuffing up more then these are. I'm thinking it should be more durable after more drying time but only time will tell.
