  1. So this is my first build in 2015 and my first new model here in this forum. I dediced to paint the pony-car in "vintage burgundy" - a color which was available in 64 teamed up to a "sand" colored interior. To give it a more realistic look, I gave the windshield a litte shot with "clear blue" (Tamiya) so imitate tinted glass. Also the carpet got a little flocking.
  2. Thank You guys! Since this was a vintage Matchbox/AMT - model kit, I think the tire & wheel Combo represented what People thought back in the late 70s, when this kit was released, what a car like this Little Mustang should have to look good. I built this kit straight out of the box and took the wheels & tires that very included even if they did not represent my "gusto". Ludwig
  3. Thanks to all for Your positive comments on my 63 Impala ! To answer a question concerning the hubcaps: I gave them a Little washing to achieve a more realistic (kind of stainless steel) look. Ludwig
  4. This is a kit I built in 2014 and my very first try to achieve a "candy" color.
  5. Thank You very much, according to my opinion the 1965 Buick Riviera is one of the most elegant US cars of the 1960s. And "gold" is a color that suits it very well.
  6. Until my current project will roll off the 1:25 assembly line, I'm going to show You another one of my older builds: 1965 Buick Riviera (AMT) And here the model car with an old Gorgy Toys Buick Riviera (a 1964 I guess) I played with when I was a kid and a "Riviera" script which once was mounted to the dash:
  7. Mike, great job on the old Jo Han kit! I still have it on my shelf. The Color reminds Looks like "orange metallic" by Tamiya and fits the car perfectly. i love those old Mopars from around 1960! Ludwig
  8. Thank You very much for Your positive comments on my 1970 Mustang Mach I. Concerning the fakewood I have to admit that there were wood textured decals for the dashboard and the doors included. So I tried to paint the steering wheel in a way to match the color of the fakewood decals (see photo # 6). Ludwig
  9. Thanks to all! Yes, David (espo) You are right: it is a 312 cui YBlock V-8 which was available in 1957 with 275 hp. Shame on me!
  10. Revell realeased this kit in 2013. I decided to build it as a "sleeper" - No fancy 50s style two tone paint, just a simple dark green, no special wheels, just steelies with "poverty caps". Interior: plane Jane, bench seat in front, no radio. BUT: 272 cui Yblock V-8 under the hood with a two barrel set-up, dual exaust and manual transmission with floor mounted shifter.
  11. Mark, the paint I used is "Pearl red" by Tamiya. It comes very close to those typical exterior Colors used frequently on US-cars back in the day. So, if You've got a bunch of Jo Han kits waiting in the queue: kick the pedal to the metal Ludwig
  12. Mark, I also do remember the car in that film! And also many other tail-finned vehicles from that period. Ludwig
  13. Thank You very much. It's good to hear that You like those old Jo Han - kits as much as I do! Great!
  14. Impressive! Who released the model kit? I would also like to hear more about Your perfect way to remove the chromed faces ot the headlights. Ludwig
  15. Thank You very much, I definitely do appreciate You positive comments, especially that You like the color I have chosen for this model shows me I am on the right way! Thank to all of You! Ludwig
  16. Thank You guys for Your positive comments to my build!
  17. beautiful color, superb paint job!
  18. Another model car of my Jo Han "collection" is this 1962 Plymouth Fury convertible. The styling is not so outstanding as that of the 1962 Dodge Dart, but also very unique. Enjoy!
  19. Thanks for all the positive comments! @ Bruce: the garage door and the pavement are super sized photographs glued onto cardboard. "Ugly" or "beautiful" - I find the early 1960s Mopars in any case very interesting, since the styling of those days marks the time of change when the typical 50s styling was fading out and the straight lines of the typical 60s car body shapes had not arrived yet. Ludwig
  20. Thank You very much! It really was not easy getting the BMF correctly done on the special Body shape of the Dart. @ Mike_G: I gave a very thin black washing with a very thin brush to that litte circle which separates the headlight from the surrounding bezel. Ludwig
  21. The 1962 Dodge Dart 440 is another build of my Jo Han collection. I built the kit already four years ago. I still remember when Jo Han kits were on sale in hobby shops here in Germany in the late 1970s. Today they are hard to get here and in most cases they are expensive too if You find one!
  22. Thank You guys for Your positive feedback to my 66 Olds Toronado!
  23. Very nice build! I built a 64 GTO last year and used the stock wheels, but Your car looks great with those modern wheels. Pretty cool also how nice that Corvette Motor fits under the hood of the "goat".
