  1. This is my 1965 Plymouth Satellite: I choose a color from Tamiya (pearl red) which comes close "dusk rose". Alle parts were very precisely manufactured, so the kit was fun to build.
  2. Congratulations Steve! This is an outstanding model You've built. Being the owner of a real 62 Galaxie 500 (Hardtop) since 15 years already, I appreciate to see this fullsize Ford in the 1:25 scale. Regards Ludwig
  3. Thank You very much guys! @drsnapper55: I always use Tamiya's "Clear Blue" fot the windshield-stripe. I don't mask the "glass" to have the color fading towards the lower section of the windshield. You should exercise this procedure on some clear parts You don't need anymore before starting off with the only windshield You have in Your actual model-kit. @Mike 1017: The body received three coats of Tamiya's "Orange metallic" and two rounds of car wax to get a good shine (I did not use a clear coat). After that I applied the BMF (new improved chrome). Ludwig
  4. I decided to build the Revell Starsky & Hutch kit not as the famous "striped tomato". Color is "Orange metallic" (Tamiya) which comes close to the original "Bronze metallic" that was available for 1975 Gran Torinos and was - as I recall - a popular color with 1970s cars.
  5. Thank You very much, guys! I too like the interior of that car! To create the fake wood on the console I used "Wood" (Revell) as a first coat. Then I took a tiny bit of semigloss black along with some glossy "clear" and brushed over the first coat to let the colors "melt". Ludwig
  6. Thanks John!
  7. Thank You guys! I think that's the best reaction You can get, if somebody says that a photo of Your model could be mistaken for a pic of a 1:1 ! Ludwig
  8. ... two more photos showing the interior (fakewood on the door panels and on the steering wheel was done with a brush)
  9. Despite all two-tone color suggestions on the build sheet, I decided to build this model with only one exterior color which is Tamiya "orange metallic" with a candy "topping" (transparent yellow).
  10. Thank You very much for Your positive feedback and Your kind words! For me this all new tooled kit by Revell was fun to build. Thanks again! Ludwig
  11. Thank You guys for Your kind words. By the way, the "Camaro" script on the front fenders and the crossed flags are decals. Ludwig
  12. By now the body is nearly completed. I sprayed a shadow stripe on the windshield without masking the lower section and placed the decals and windows.
  13. Not much progress during the last weeks, but I finished the interior (I took these photos prior to glueing the right seat to the floor).
  14. I did not wet sand the body. It is simply Tamiya primer with three layers of Tamiya "Light blue metallic" and several rounds of "MEguiars" Car wax. I worked on the door panels to achieve a more realistic look ( I'm not finished yet!):
  15. Thank You! @‌Jon: I want to build it the super sport Version. @‌John: I appreciate Your Information very much. Since I am not done with the interior yet, I plan to take away again most of the black washing on the window cranks and the door handles. So I still can give them the correct colors as well as the kick panel.
  16. Thank You guys! I want to do the interior black (dashboard, pack tray, floor) and the seats white, which was available back in the day. As for wheels I have chosen Chevy's "Rally Wheels". The look great on the late 1960s models. Meanwhile I have done the BMF-work on the body which is not that much with this Camaro and I have put on the white nose decal:
  17. I started to build a 1967 Camaro SS - a new kit released by Revell in 2014. Here are some photos showing the body after the paint job. I used Tamiya light blue metallic which comes close to the original "Marina blue metallic".
  18. Thank You! JT, I also thought that the 3rd photo gives a very realistic look on the car. This shows how much the quality of daylight / shade can influence the shot. Ludwig
  19. Thank You guys for Your positive comments on my Station wagons! @Snake45: I think You are right, the 65 Chevelle sw-kit has always been the same over all these years.
  20. This model is based on a very old AMT-kit which has been reproduced several times. AMT has added some extra parts so the newest version of the kit can be build stock or as a drag racing "power wagon". I decided to build it slightly customized with a nice set of chrome wheels and ww-tires (I know that the white stripe this size refers to the 50s, but it looks great on the car according to my opinion). Color is "pastel blue" by Duplicolor. So, here is my "collection" of long roofs so far: 65 Chevelle, 66 Chevelle, 60 Plymouth Suburban
  21. Thank You guys for Your comments! Yes, make sure that You like working with BMF when You decide to build one of these big cars. Ludwig
  22. I built this 1964 Mercury to show that also other fullsize-cars of the 60s - not only 64 Impalas - definetly look good with "lowrider looks". So I did not build the engine but used a set of Pegasus wheels.
  23. Steve, congratulations! Great built, in Your usual high quality standards! The two tone color combination suits the car beautifully. Ludwig
