  1. I started to build a 1967 Camaro SS - a new kit released by Revell in 2014. Here are some photos showing the body after the paint job. I used Tamiya light blue metallic which comes close to the original "Marina blue metallic".
  2. Thank You! JT, I also thought that the 3rd photo gives a very realistic look on the car. This shows how much the quality of daylight / shade can influence the shot. Ludwig
  3. Thank You guys for Your positive comments on my Station wagons! @Snake45: I think You are right, the 65 Chevelle sw-kit has always been the same over all these years.
  4. This model is based on a very old AMT-kit which has been reproduced several times. AMT has added some extra parts so the newest version of the kit can be build stock or as a drag racing "power wagon". I decided to build it slightly customized with a nice set of chrome wheels and ww-tires (I know that the white stripe this size refers to the 50s, but it looks great on the car according to my opinion). Color is "pastel blue" by Duplicolor. So, here is my "collection" of long roofs so far: 65 Chevelle, 66 Chevelle, 60 Plymouth Suburban
  5. Thank You guys for Your comments! Yes, make sure that You like working with BMF when You decide to build one of these big cars. Ludwig
  6. I built this 1964 Mercury to show that also other fullsize-cars of the 60s - not only 64 Impalas - definetly look good with "lowrider looks". So I did not build the engine but used a set of Pegasus wheels.
  7. Steve, congratulations! Great built, in Your usual high quality standards! The two tone color combination suits the car beautifully. Ludwig
  8. Thank You very much for Your positive feedback! John: I glued the wires which hold the hood pins to the hood, not to the grille, so I can remove the hood. Ludwig
  9. Thanks Michael for Your kind words! It was very much fun to build this kit. I like the golden paint on this car very much. Best regards Ludwig
  10. My 1971 Plymouth GTX has just left the showroom and is sitting now in the driveway, waiting to go downtown on a Friday nite:
  11. Steve, paint and foiling are excellent!!! Which Kind of BMF did You use (I usually have "new improved chrome" which is more felxible on litte Details but this seems to be a more shiny foil)? Ludwig
  12. Thank You, guys! I used Tamiya TS-29 semigloss black for the interior. Meanchwile I put the tub into the body and glued both onto the chassis with a photo taken of the engine before the big aircleaner will cover everything:
  13. UPDATE: Interior completed
  14. Amazing! With all these styling elements mixed up it ooks like a "Ford Impala 300"
  15. Yes, several layers of paint. Thanks, Michael!
  16. Sidney: For the dashboard I used "Brown" and "Tan" along with a little bit of thinned black with an almost dry brush. Tommy: I was lucky that the wheels were already chrome plated, so I hat to apply "Steel" - color in the middle section and a darker version of "Steel" on the inner circle of the wheels, but not to much, so that the nuts are still visible.
  17. UPDATE: MAY 17 2015 Just a test fit chassis to body: Dashboard with a "fake version" of "fakewood"
  18. UPDATE: MAY-15-2015 Meanwhile I have done most of the BMF-work on the car and have added a couple of decals:
  19. Thank You, guys! Yes, I am trying to get close to that car shown in the photo!
  20. UPDATE: I started to detail the body of the 71 GTX. For example I "installed" a spring which holds down the hood: At the underside of the hood it was necessary to drill out a little hole to accomodate the spring.
  21. I started to build this some days ago. It is a 1971 Plymouth GTX by Monogram. I painted the body in gold, using Tamiyas "gold" and "light sand metallic", trying to get close to the original exterior color "Golden Leaf Metallic". A pic of a original car:
  22. Russell, great work to show such a beautifully detailed Yblock in the 1:25 scale! Dennis is right with his remark on the generator. Last year the generator - a predecessor of the alternator - which refers to the technical standards of the 1950s, when Yblocks were developed - in my 62 Ford Galaxie, which features a 292 ci Yblock, needed a rebuild kit. Ludwig
  23. Steve, i just read that You have started a 62 Galaxie convertible. Please continue, since I have a 62 Galaxie (hardtop) in my Garage, I would like to see Your build one day here in the forum! Ludwig
  24. Great job, Steve! Your model Looks absolutely realistic. A masterpiece! Ludwig
  25. Indeed some good looking Montes in this thread. Congratulations to You Benjamin to Your build. Perhaps it is the fact that your location - Nice - is not far away from Monte Carlo that influenced Your work on the MC-kit so positively Best regards neighbor Ludwig
