  1. Here's another picture but it's not much better. There's also a picture of the can of paint that was used. It's Model Masters Burgundy Red.
  2. Here's a couple more pictures. The cab does raise but the engine doesn't look all that nice due to a couple parts that were missing in the kit.
  3. Hot on the heels of my Mack Cruise Liner Cabover comes my Kenworth Conventional W-925. I just got the body painted. I used one coat of primer. I wish I had better lighting to take better pictures but it is what it is.
  4. Nice truck. I think we have the same ideas. I've been building semis too for the past month. I just finished my Mack Cruise Liner. Gonna put a Wilson Livestock trailer behind it.
  5. I just now finished my Mack Cruise Liner Cabover. This was a tough kit. The instructions we not very helpful and most of the parts were not numbered on the trees. But it turned out pretty good. I did get the decals on upside down.
  6. Does anyone know of a place to get custom decals for a semi trailer model? Like if I wanted to put decals saying Kroger, Sundrop, or Walmart on the sides of my trailers? They don't necessarily have to say that. Just custom decals of real companies. I saw someone on here post pics of their finished builds and one trailer had Sharman Toilet Paper decals.
  7. Looking pretty good there. I have one of those same kits to build too. I'll get to it after I finish the Mack. In the meantime here's two of my older builds.
  8. Thanks. I used a rattle can of paint.
  9. Thanks guys for all the help. I've been at this hobby for 30 years and still learning new things. I finished this truck about a week ago. Plus another one. I just got the Mack painted this morning. I know the picture is a bit poor, but the Mack is near flawless painted.
  10. Welcome to the hobby. I've been building for around 30 years and I'm still learning. Your question has been answered pretty much with the same answers I would give. Except maybe saying easy off oven cleaner in the yellow can removes paint too. I sometimes use primer, and sometimes I don't. This Mack cab was painted early this morning with a lacquer paint. One coat no primer.
  11. Thanks for all the help guys. This is actually the first time in 30 years of building I ever had this problem. I have had the dreaded paint wrinkle alligator skin effect many times in the past though. Here is the same piece now. Still needs wet sanding.
  12. First off I hope everyone is staying safe here from Covid19. Because of the quarantine I have once again came out of retirement from building models. I just spent a ton of money getting some semi trucks and trailers to build. Now to my problem. I can't get my paint to stick. I keep getting the results as seen in the pic. Any help would be appreciated.
  13. Looks like we have the same ideas. I have all of these to start building.
  14. Very nice. I'm about to start building one of these myself. Mine is going to be the Coca-Cola version complete with trailer.
  15. Thanks lol. I've been collecting games for a long time too.
  16. Thanks guys. And I started building models when I was about 10. So around 1988 or 89 probably. I used to have way more than this. But some got thrown away by accident when we moved.
  17. Here are most of my builds and some others. I have gotten help (parts) from many of you here and I figured I would show you all what you have helped with. If anyone knows they have helped me or sent me parts take a bow. If a car looks dirty or has bad paint or mix matched parts it is on purpose as I like the junk look.
  18. Very nice Camaro there. I would like to see it when it's finished.
  19. Looking good there. I have one of these I've got to get around to finishing too. Mine is sublime green and with the interior gonna be white seats and door panels with a black dash and carpet.
  20. Update. I got my parts today and I must say I am very pleased. The hood for the Revell 1/24th scale 70 Dodge Challenger that you get from Harts Resin looks so much better than the hoods that actually come with the kit. I HIGHLY suggest them!
  21. I got an email for them Saturday saying they shipped out my parts. I just wish they did send order confirmation emails.
  22. Okay thanks. I just don't want to have shelled out $25 and not get what I ordered. I've had it happen before. And I'll try that with the decals when I get home.
  23. Is there anyone here that has ordered parts from Harts Resin before? I placed an order over a week ago and all I have to show for it is a PALPAY receipt. They never contacted me at all and still haven't heard from them in over a week. I just want to know if this is normal with them. Also what's a good way to remove decals from a body without ruining the paint?
  24. These are 2 of the best traders on the site. I was very pleased with our trade. I hope to trade with them again and again. DRIPTROIT 71 JTalmage.
  25. Does anyone here know of a site that sells reproduction windows/glass for model kits? I have a few cars I need glass for and I've checked Modelhaus and Harts resin. Neither of them have what I need. I need the windows for a 69 Dodge Daytona 500 Charger, a 1974 Dodge Charger and the Revell 1969 Dodge Charger. Also the 1974 Roadrunner. If anyone knows of a site or has any of these windows you will part with please let me know.
