  1. Beautiful train cars and thanks for the info. However, there's no graffiti on them! (Just kidding). We have a train track a block away from the house and one right next to the university I work at. I see trains all the time and it irks me to see them covered in graffiti.
  2. I had a note I made from somewhere: 3 parts distilled water, one part isopropyl alcohol and 4-5 drops of glycerin to thin acrylics. I used that and as you said it was very watery and did not seem to have much pigment in it. I have heard of using washer fluid as well so I'll try that tonight. I thought of I could get it to cover I would hit it with matte clear or Dullcote. Would those work? Thanks!
  3. In working on a new project, i thought about using acrylic paints for the interior, because they matched pretty well (green). I know some folks use these on a more regular basis so my question is how do you get these to a sprayable consistency, or it that a lost cause? Thanks!
  4. Very nice, Tim.
  5. I'm building a 70 Challenger for a friend. What color was the undercarriage floor pans? If I remember right the front inner fenders are body color. Is this right? Thanks!
  6. They are nice-but out of stock. There is a seller on EBAY but 25 day delayed shipping. I need them sooner. Thanks!
  7. Anybody 3D or resin cast Mickey Thompson or Mopar Performance valve covers for a 340? I'm doing a retro build of a friend's Challenger T/A. Thanks!
  8. Great job on the body and overall build. Definitely not something you find out there.
  9. A good chassis to use for this vintage is the Elliot Coors T Bird chassis. Period correct, great detail and kits or parts are cheap on the internet and it is easily modified to fit. Way better than the Salvinos leaf spring stuff or their truck arm "fix". I used it under multiple builds.
  10. Got some more small details done. Core support and radiator, tied up the wiring harness, finished up the dash and tub. Waiting on some nice weather to finish body prep and paint and fit the bumpers plus foil.
  11. This is not Gerald's, but Herb Adams built a "privateer" 73 GA that was very close to stock.
  12. Does anybody 3D print BMW Throwing Star Wheels?
  13. Cool color and cool idea to "create" yourself. Is this a program that woks off a scan of a photo? Pretty neat.
  14. It is not wire but colored thread. I cannot find colored wire that small. Computer wire is about the right scale for plug wires but too big for normal 14 or 12 gauge auto electrical wire. Thread looks right, is cheap and you can mimic the actual wire colors. For example, GM blower motors used purple wire and the wiper motor yellow and black. Other colors used are orange and red so you can come up with pretty good detail that way. I wish I knew how folks on the board print very small decals. I have not mastered that yet.
  15. Made some more progress on this one. More detailing on the firewall. I added wiring and some more engine detail. I started gluing up the interior and added seat belts. Found some red line decals for the tires. Added brake lines and detailed the front and rear brakes to work with the resin wheels. Created a headliner to match the real pattern and glued it and the sail panels in. I have to finish the e-brake cables and various belts and hoses then test fit it. I have done some body work but there is a major ridge under the hood letters I can't get out. The sun visors are from the Chevelle, they are just sitting there for now and need to be glued in. Thanks for looking!
  16. Great save! Paint almost looks like GTO Orbit Orange.
  17. How do you print those dash decals? The detail is amazing!
  18. Robert Burns has had them listed on and off his page for awhile but I don't think he has printed them yet. Perry's Resin had a nice kit of the 68 but long gone. They occasionally show up on EBAY but I have missed 3 or 4 of them.
  19. Anybody printing a 68 Skylark GS? I see 69's out there (I bought one) but how about a 68? Thanks!
  20. Making some progress on this one. I painted the frame and put the finned rear cover on and the red aftermarket shocks. I used the Riviera engine. I had to fill in the axle hole and then the oil pan was wrong so I found one in the parts box. I had to make brackets and belts for alternator and power steering. Red thread for the alternator wiring. Resin cast of the Edelbrock B4B intake and Fireball Holley carb with fly eye air cleaner. I mounted the CD ignition amplifier and wired it. I have not mounted the Mallory coil yet. Master cylinder wired and brake lines attached. I made up all the interior parts and cast them in resin and painted them with Tamiya paint, which is close. First time using embossing powder for carpet. Kind of messy. I sanded the swirls out of the body and have hit with a couple of coats of Dupli Color filler primer. I still need to fix the hood and do more body work. I put the fold strips on for the vinyl top. I used Molotow on the wheels which are Jay's Resin 17 inch copies of the Hurst wheels. I made up some headers. One side does not fit so some surgery required. I still have to detail the chassis and begin more fitting. Lots of mods to the Chevelle firewall and I had to cut the cowl area from the Chevelle body and graft it to the firewall to fit. I also had to extend the front wheel wells out to hide them in the Buick fender wells.
