The color is a 1975 Pontiac color Fire Coral Bronze. A pretty color that I always like, particularly with a saddle interior.

This was another just for fun project. I was trying to do a wide body 73 Grand Am but ended up just flaring the wheel wells for some larger wheels and tires and creating some spoilers for effect. Resin 73 Grand Am bumper, body and interior parts. Scale Productions (I think) resin Recaro seats. Felt carpeting and PE seat belt buckles. I tried to use a chassis from a Pro Street Chevelle because it has the same wheelbase. Big mistake. I ended up remaking the whole rear half of the chassis. Engine was from a late 70's Firebird kit and headers scratch built from parts box stuff, Lower front valance and spoilers from a 70's Dodge Challenger. Fireball resin Holley carb with scratch built linkage. Joseph's detail on these carbs is amazing if you have never seen one up close. Resin wheels from Ukraine and tires as well. Fire Coral Bronze acrylic enamel auto paint over Tamiya fine grey primer. My most successful attempt at bare metal foil. Acetate windows. Wired and plumbed with scratch built washer bottle and puke tank for the radiator.

Love this body style and all of the builds, including yours, are knockouts!

Great job! I always loved that version of the Mach 1 but it seems to fall down on most popularity scales.

What did you use for paint? That has some super metallic in it. Looks killer.

This is for Mark-he could not find the car in the finished post.
-
Mark, I went back and looked. It was in the finished NASCAR section. I thought I posted it there after it was done. Now it's in both spots!

I wonder if thin strips of foil A/C duct tape would be easier to work with? -
Very nice job!

Thanks. I have a problem with BMF being very fragile and tending to peel off if handled. It seems it would be hard to get it to stick to such small areas but I will try it. Thanks for the tip!

Very nicely done! How did you "chrome" the emblems? That detail is very neat. The rest of the build is period perfect.

Bare metal foil or Molotow ink? Looks great!

Great Detail work. I love the South Bend license plate!

A very clean and well-done build!

I'm actually going to do an accurate interior and cast it in resin for Robert's 2 door and wagon.

Looked for one of those for 3 years. Missed on EBAY three or four times. I am waiting on a Robert Burns body and will use Cutlass or Chevelle donor with scratch built interior.

Likely a very long-term project..... Building a Coyote X
