Super clean. A friend of mine's Dad had a burgundy one. I always like that car.

Very clean-did you use texture paint for the roof? -
I have a great love for the 73-77 GM Collonade cars. I have done several Pontiacs and have done resin castings of both Pontiacs and Buicks. I also like the two Buick Indy 500 Pace Cars and so did resin castings of both. Like many of you, I always seem to have multiple projects working and finishing them takes me a long time. I started this build awhile ago and my ambitions got the better of me. I see unreal detail and craftsmanship on the board but I had never attempted a super detailed build. This was a somewhat ambitious attempt at one. My own resin body and interior, 1966 GTO chassis shortened, 66 GTO engine with a Buick front cover and scratch made intake, Fireball Quadrajet and resin BOP Turbo 400. Resin wheels and tires. Fred Cady (I think) decals with Ray's Kits under hood detail decals. I tried to do a full interior which included textured headliner (HO scale textured plastic), dome light and shoulder harnesses. Photo etch seat belt buckles with blue ribbon. Detailed interior with wood grain and my own resin seats and console and steering wheel. Undercarriage with brake hoses, fuel line and emergency brake cables. Under hood looks like a typical mid 70's emission V-8: a mess. I added transmission lines, power steering hoses, A/C lines and scratch built pulleys and belts. Detailed battery and cables. Heater and radiator hoses. The washer tank and radiator overflow were scratch built to mimic the real thing. I added a charcoal canister and lines, throttle return spring, power brake hose, electrical relays and the vacuum ball for heater controls. I used thread and fine wire to represent wiring and hoses, color coded to the real thing. I went through 3 decal sets as they just crumbled up. I finally put three coats of clear lacquer on them and that made them stay together. Paint is correct for inside and outside as I had it mixed at a paint store. A lot of work and lots of flubs in it but it was satisfying to finally get it done.

Very nice! What did you start with?

Thanks for the information. I'll wait.

Any chance of a Pontiac V-8? your work is beautiful in its detail and accuracy.

Looks great, Gerald!

From what we could tell via a quick internet search it looked like the Yeoman models were "strippers" that lacked the rear trim. It could have been an option. I know very little about this era but the wagon was neat. It had exhaust cutouts and a beautiful interior as well.

My son got married in Palm Springs, California last March. We came out of our hotel room one morning and this was in the parking lot. Very cool.

Another source of fine mesh screen is a filter for a Keurig coffee maker. That's what I use for my NASCAR builds/

I love that lime gold paint on Mustangs and it will look cool. I thought the article might show some details you could use.

I had a 77 "bent glass" 2 door. Your build looks spot on. I'm also jealous of your workbench. Mine has never been that clean...

Great color-what is it?

Gluing in Acetate Windows

Peteski, thanks for the info on plastic types. What type of adhesive WILL stick to polypropolene plastics? I have found no consumer products that will adhere to that stuff. Thanks! -

Is there a faster setting method that will grab and hold quicker? -
In working with resin bodies, you generally don't have the luxury of molded plastic windows. Some providers can provide vacuum formed windows but often I am left with creating them out of acetate sheet. Gluing them in without making a total mess is often the hardest part of a build. Anybody with any great suggestions?

Just a general question about using epoxy, Steve. After you mix it, do you apply it with toothpicks and do you let it tack for a minute before assembly? -
Who did the wheels and tires? Another super clean build.

Looks great, Gerald. I have a soft spot for green cars and that was a beautiful GM color.

Thanks, guys!
