  1. Really nice work! Wish I could find one of these blank white Tahoes, I've got a set of custom decals ready to go for it! Jonah
  2. I've got this kit in the pile; will be interested in watching your progress. What color did you use for the interior? Jonah
  3. Really nice! Jonah
  4. Looking good, I'll be in for one of each kit. Jonah
  5. Looks like a very authentic reproduction of the real thing. Looking forward to your future projects, and best wishes for your career. Jonah
  6. Very nice! Jonah
  7. Looks great! Jonah
  8. Thanks for the Impala clarification. If I can get 2 copies of the Modelhaus kit, then I'll be able to represent both the yellow 82 and blue 84, which will fill 2 gaps in my collection. Looking forward to the CV also! Jonah
  9. If no one objects to a brief sidebar, I could use some help nailing down some makes/years while we have the 1980s police car experts gathered. These are screen grabs from Youtube; the first is clearly a Chevy but I'm unsure of the year; I believe the remainder are also Chevys, but the second photo is tough to tell. I know this PD bought Chevys in 79, 82, & 84; with 84 being the first year for the blue that replaced the yellow/white. I haven't found any records of what they bought between 87-90, so looking to see if the two blue cars pictured are 84s or if they fall in to the 87-90 timeframe, if there are even enough discernible differences to tell. Any info is much appreciated, and it would be great to have whatever cars these are available in kit form someday! Thanks Jonah
  10. Really looks nice, this will fill quite a gap in my collection! A 1986 CV is on my list also; that would require fairly substantial changes to the taillights, right? I'd vote for the 86-90 Caprice next, followed by the 76-77 LeMans. Thanks Jonah
  11. I'd be in for copies of several of the kits you mentioned! Jonah
  12. I like it. One other detail to add to the former cop car storyline is to simulate some rubber plugs in the sheet metal where the overhead lights & antennas used to be. I was thinking of punching a few discs of black decal for a similar application on one of my cars. Thanks for sharing Jonah
  13. Thanks for the comments and the info; I didn't know there'd been a resin kit. Foxer, your conversion puts me to shame! Nice job! Jonah
  14. Yes, from what I've pieced together the transition was while 1991s were being integrated into the fleet. This website has an overview of DPD cars, and this model is based off one of the photos. I've got the kit & decals to do the blue stripe scheme on a '91 as a companion to this build. http://jalopnik.com/5815263/85-years-of-dallas-police-squad-cars/ Thanks for the comments! Jonah
  15. Lindberg's 1/25 1996-97 Crown Vic, backdated to a '92. Ford CV experts will note that I compromised a bit on the backdating around the taillights/rear bumper, but it looks more like a 92 than it did when I started, and it was a fun project. Maybe on the next one I'll aim for a more authentic conversion on the back end! Thanks for looking, Jonah
  16. Chuck's MSP Caprice reminded me that I hadn't posted any pictures yet of the same kit that I finished a couple of months back. Decals from Pursuit Plastics, supplemented by a couple of custom decals. Except for the antenna, it's OOB. Thanks for looking Jonah
  17. Looks sharp! Jonah
  18. I should have been more clear Chuck...do you know of any exterior differences to distinguish a 93 apart from a 94? Thanks Jonah
  19. That's good to know....is there a similar distinction between a '93 & '94? I haven't picked up on any exterior differences between the two. Good looking models, thanks for sharing. Jonah
  20. First Welly model I bought, it's a pretty nice representation of a Chevy Tahoe. The overhead lights that came with it looked a little small to me, so I substituted a set from the Classic Metal Works Crown Victoria. Pillar spotlight came from Revell's Caprice. Added various details to the interior, including the partitions from Revell's snap Expedition kit, camera, radar, laptop, traffic cones, shotgun, and fire extinguisher. This was a fun project, thanks for looking! Jonah
  21. Thanks for all the great info! Brandon, great photos; I hadn't run across any of those yet. Jonah
  22. Yes, the Snorkel is on my list too. I've got some better photos of it, and I've got the AMT Aero Chief kit to use as a basis. The biggest change will be the addition of a second rear axle. Jonah
  23. Thanks for the info, I appreciate it. I plan to use the chassis & cab as the basis for a fire-rescue truck like the one pictured below. My best guess is it's a Darley; so far I haven't found any info on fire manufacturers other than Darley that used Ford cabs.
  24. Looking to clarify the similarities & differences between the AMT C600/900 kits; as I understand it there is a short frame version and a longer frame version. Which versions have which length, and how much difference in frame length/wheelbase is there? Is there a boxing with both sets of frames by any chance? Other than the frame, are there any differences in the cabs/interiors? Thanks! Jonah
