  1. Jeff, Chris, Gator, and Carl, Thanks for the kind compliments and encouragement!
  2. Cool project!! Looking forward to more!
  3. Thanks for posting this Jim. I just looked at the website and Dave has added several items since I last looked in.
  4. Tom: Thanks for the kind words. I'm a Detroit man too. I am trying to imagine what this thing would sound like coming down the road. Detroit + straight pipes + twin turbos + Swampers =??!!??!!!!. LOUD!! Mike (mikemodeler): Thanks so much! It wouldn't have been the same without your help. Mike (Maindrian Pace): Thanks for the compliment, it pales next to your 77 though. Terry: Thanks, and thanks for the encouragement along the way! Cliff: Thanks for the kind words!
  5. I didn't even realize that you had left off the stripe. I had to go back and look at the photos to see that small stripe. I did notice that many of the 1:1 copies leave that stripe off as well. Stripe or no stripe, it's still the best BJ McKay model that I've ever seen.
  6. Looking Excellent!! I hate pipe work, but you do a great job at it.
  7. This one is finally under glass under the title "The Skidder".
  8. Back in the day we used to name our trucks. My 79 Ford was called "No Problem". My friend's Chevrolet was "The Skidder". I think that since that was over 20 years ago that I can safely use that name. So here is my version of the "Skidder" This began with the Moebius kit. The cab and hood were warped pretty bad, but it came out pretty good. It has a 6v-71 Detroit Diesel engine with twin turbos, Allison Transmission, Dana axels, and more than I can remember to list. A special thanks to mikemodeler for the tires! A special thanks also to Fat Brian who fixed me up with the winch bumper and roll bar, and bismarck for decals.
  9. Very nice work!!
  10. Excellent work!! Looks like the real thing! This was one of my favorite TV shows.
  11. Thanks Mike, Sam and Gator!! I think I've about gotten the engine compartment done. The exhaust has been ran. I made a couple of heat shields for the pipes in the engine compartment. I'm not totally happy with the exhaust, but I'm calling it finished. The firewall was reconfigured and a small dog house was made under the dash. The original heater box was replaced with a small one under the dash.
  12. Thanks Kevin! I hope to build one later, but with the irons that I have in the fire right now, it will be a while. Thanks for the help! I will probably taking you up on this offer when ever I start this project.
  13. Great looking trucks here. I built this one about 18 years ago, and gave it to my brother about 10 years ago. I was at his house today and snapped a couple of photos.
  14. Cool project!! I'm curious about that "special" engine. I've been wanting to build a "Big Allis" myself and I started to build one for the build off, but I was afraid that it wouldn't fit under the H cab.
  15. I've been wanting to see this one done. This thing looks incredible!! I hope to build a short bed of the one that I drove in high school. If it turns out half as good as this one, I will be happy.
  16. Excellent conversion work!!
  17. Your right Jim, that it what it actually is. I thought that it was labeled as a 92 but I may be wrong.
  18. I haven't purchased any of their aluminum, but I did purchase some of their GroundHawg tires last year off of Ebay. It took 3 weeks to arrive, but that was noted before the sale. I was a little disappointed with the quality though. Out of the 4 tires, 1 was at least 2 scale inches shorter than the other 3. I didn't contact them or try to exchange it. I didn't figure that it was worth the trouble.
  19. Ausowe has good stuff. The 92s that I have seen from them have the 71 style valve covers like the 92s found in the AMT kits such as the Aerodyne and the General. I'm want to get some that more resemble the more squared look of the 92 valve covers. I'm looking forward to seeing what KJ creates.
  20. Count me in for a set. I've been working on set for the Auslowe 6v-92, but not sure how they will turn out yet.
  21. Thanks KJ. I haven't tried to contact them yet. I was hoping to get one of those 8v-92s that they listed. I may just try to make 92 valve covers for the 8v-71 since they are out of business.
  22. Has anyone here in the states ordered anything from Melbourne Model Truck Accessories in Australia? The have some great looking stuff on their website. Just wondering about service and quality.
