  3. Those are really nice Curt . Love the old Indy cars. Got a few un-builts sittin on the shelf. I like the yellow #99 Demler Special, and the "FIN" behind the drivers head - very cool.
  4. WELL LOOKY THERE - SOMEONE'S HAVIN A BIRFDAY HEY, I HOPE YA HAVE A GREAT DAY AND GET SOME KEWLLLL TOYZ. ( I always buy myself a few things, 'cause I got such good taste , and a trip to the LHS is always a nice way to celebrate ) ENJOY - dave
  5. I've found that most dust particles of any consequence came from my clothing, especially in the winter from my long sleeved winter plaids. When I switched to short sleeves or t-shirt's, what little problems I had, pretty much went away. NICE EASY FIX. What little dust I do get once in a while, is easy to polish out. No perfect paint jobs usually, so it's knowing how to do the finish work, which get's pretty easy with a bit of practice and patience.
  6. BEEN HERE <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> . <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" /> <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> Thanks guy's for letting me share - dave <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> <img src="http://i253.photobucket.com/albums/hh49/treehuggerdave/2009_0809Photobucket10015.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />
  7. That's the kit, and your rendition is very nice. I saw it earlier this week "Under Glass" I believe. Thanks everyone for your encouragement and feedback. It'll be fun picking it up and tearing into it to see everything I've been told about it. Can't ever remember finishing a CHRYSLER PRODUCT model, even thogh I have several, so I'm sure this one will probably break that streak. Thanks again guy's - dave
  8. Saw these new as a re-issue in a local hobby shop last week, so called them later and had them hold one for me. Probably pick it up this coming week. Just wondering if anyone has one yet and what they think. What kind of motor do they include with it?? Thanks guy's - dave
  9. Beautiful work Harry . It takes a lot of patience to assemble one of these. I checked it out in the "BIG BOYZ" section. Tons of "Tiny" parts even for 1/8th scale. Beautiful color combination. Think I saw one of these with blue fenders on ebay. Isn't ebay great ??
  10. Most everyone I know builds their own - me to . Built this about a decade ago, and as you can see, well used, but still working fine after having two different homes . First I figured out the CFM ( Cubic feet per Minute ) I'd need, then looked in a Grainger catalogue and found a squirel- cage fan. I got a sheet of plywood, and built a 18" deep X 24" X 30" spray booth. I built an adaptor for the squirel-cage, and got some dryer ducting, two lights for inside, a place for a slide out filter, and she was done. Probably ten years ago about $100.00, and about a week in spare time, and she still works fine.
  11. Very, very nice Curt . Got a couple of these and one in progress - real nice kits. Yours turned out beautiful - dave
  12. Doesn't have to be a lonly hobby Bob. I belong to 2 clubs, go to model event's, and have friends who build that I share with, and friends I share with that don't build, but enjoy my interests, as I do theirs, as well as know the people in the local hobby shops, and keep in touch with them. I've made friends here too, and that just adds to the over-all enjoyment of this wonderful hobby.
  13. SSSHHHHHH........... HARRY, DON'T TELL VICTORIA - I THINK SHE LIKES ME .
  14. Front fenders on a "Stock" Willys are way different than we're use'd to seeing on these hot-rodded kits. Fenders should be squared off with "Roundy edges" pretty much like what you see here. Rear-end is pretty well roughed in, to where I like the length of the "Bussel" and the fenders now. The rear Willeys window has been molded in, and the front side window "sculpting" is done. Here's the latest pics - Thanks for lookin', and any comments welcome
  15. THAT'S VICTORIA'S SECRET
  16. AHHHHH YESSSSS - The 70's. Had just gotten married and had a new baby girl. It was fun watchin' all these NEW YOUNG KID'S building and winning, and keeping the hobby alive and well. We all got a shot, and it sure was fun.
  17. Very nice interior and engine detailing - even did the freeze plugs - PRETTY COOL . Great job. I'LL KEEP WATCHING - dave
  18. Like Mike and George said - WELCOME . Lots of great builders here, and plenty of helpful tips, and just about anything you want to learn about is happening here at some point. Look forward to seeing your projects - dave
  19. Nice start Tom . I'll keep watchin'. I especially like the color on the three-window. Glad ta see you cut open the roof on the sedan. Are you going to add some wood bows and maybe some wire mesh? That'ed be cool. Got one of these rascals myself some time back, and been dyin' to tear into it like everything else. SO MANY PROJECT'S - SO LITTLE TIME . dave
  20. Hey Mate Yeah, that did it. It bubbles, that's how it neutralizes the rust. The only problem is that steel rusts, and your die-cast is made of zinc, and doesn't rust - OOPS . Get all that off there and get some lacquer-based primer down, and you'll be a much happier model builder .
  21. WELL, THE REAR "BUSSEL" WAS ALWAYS TOO SHORT WITH THE "WEDGE lOOK" SO THIS WAS PART OF THE PLAN . In the process now, as you can see, and did one side with longer fenders and the "Bussel" Longer, and like it, but thought I'd ask what you guy's what do you think. Get's a "Spare Tire" to add a little classyness, cowl lights like on the '32 and '34 fords, door handles, mirror and a few other goodie's. Sort of stock-ish custom/street rod ???? . Probably put knock-offs in the center of the wheels. Here it is mocked up. Got to lookin at it and I think everything needs to go back up a "Skoosh" , but we'll get 'er. Just slice some off a bit, and add some glue and putty and "VOILA" .
  22. Here's some pic's showing the body nearly done - fun stuff
  23. WELCOME BACK TO MODELING, AND WELCOME TO OUR LITTLE FAMILY Every kind of person and building type you could imagine, including GERORGE and CB . THE DASTARDLY DUO . ONE FRY SHORT OF A HAPPY MEAL SOMETIMES
