  1. I had some good news from my doctor this week so it's going to spur this build on I feel. I'm about at a point I can't put paint off for too much longer.
  2. One of these just sold on eBay for less than $42 and I missed out on it!
  3. I agree with this as well.
  4. Thanks everyone, I'll be fine in the end, the process just sucks! I did manage to get some more work done this past weekend, most everything is ready for a good scrubbing and paint. The sleeper has become the bane of my existence, the curved panel under the Aerodyne roof had to be bent several times to fit right. Old Buckaroo's build of the snap Kenworth has changed my mind on the paint job, I really like what he did and it will be a twist on that, with my original colors though.
  5. That is too cool. I have one I am going to build a cart and a deck for.
  6. I figured I had just cost you some more money. I want to buy some of their HO Ford trucks, I have heard nothing but good things about their quality.
  7. Have you ever seen these N scale kits? They have the same truck or a similar one. http://www.sylvanscalemodels.com/N%20vehicles%20new%20page.htm
  8. I just meant that it looked a little too heavy handed and not of their quality, but I guess that was the thick coating on it. Lots of trailers from that time period had that front styling. Everything used to have some style to it.
  9. Yeah I thought that trailer looked goofy too. Not the usual I am used to seeing from that company, I guess someone made themselves a HD truck?
  10. I bought a built 63 Ford pickup that needs some of their help, I sure am going to have to keep an eye out for when they reopen, I would like to save this truck. I guess I assumed they would always be around.
  11. Stupid Photobucket! No content here.
  12. Thanks Wayne, it was one of the five winners from the Hobby Heaven build a 70 Galaxie contest in 1994 or so. I have some more pictures but Photobucket is not cooperating.
  13. Dad's was completely factory. I think it is solely based on what part of the truck is light colored maybe. Everyone paints them backwards to me. I grew up looking at these trucks all having darker paint on the roof and lower sections because all of them in the family were that way. Everyone building the kit seems to paint the upper part of the body dark. Mk11's picture looks normal to me, not the inverse of that which is what everyone builds.
  14. That's interesting and sounds backwards from my dad's truck. The light green is definitely under the dark green where it is chipped. May have something to do with the fact that the dark and light areas were inverted from your truck to his.
  15. Does this version have the nice Shelby ten spoke wheels? They're the ones that should have been in the 68 Shelby kit.
  16. Welcome from next door China Grove.
  17. My 20+ year old build. Think it is the last kit I actually finished!
  18. It's good to see I am not the only one that makes mistakes. Just seems like I put them back in the box at that point and never touch them again.
  19. Yes, the trucks were painted all one color first. My dad has a 72 Sport Custom he bought new. It has a Mallard Green roof, Springtime Green midsection, and Mallard Green lower. The entire truck was Springtime Green first, masked, then the darker Mallard Green painted. The interior and inside the bed and underside of the truck and firewall are all the lighter Springtime Green.
  20. No more updates for February. I've been undergoing chemo and it's made my hands too sore to do anything. Ended up boxing it back up for now, maybe I'll be able to get back to it before too long.
  21. Anyone else having problems seeing pictures on this thread? I wish I could see them.
  22. Gold or a yellow. I would lean toward gold though.
  23. Photobucket has been a little squirrelly as of late.
