Some of you guys are really starting to make me feel bad about my lack of progress! Nice job. -
For those of you looking for a 67 Galaxie, Motor City Resin has one now. That's what I am going to buy.

1/16 Scale Kenworth Aerodyne

Nothing fun to report, still sanding seams and parting lines. Had to set this beast together to see just how big it was, holy cow what was I thinking building something this big! With the paint I have planned, I am starting to think that the flat top sleeper may have looked better, I think I may leave the roof loose and procure a part from the red version that I could swap out. I have noticed on these kits the front axle always seems to be too far forward, I intend to address that as well. -

Should be an interesting looking truck when you are done. I like where you are going. -
Man I want one of those. My mom has her second car, a 67 Galaxie 500 two door hardtop that she bought in 1968. The promo even has the right wheel covers!

Love how clean it turned out, nice colors and scheme. -

I've used the Dullcoat before but some of my chrome has a little trash in it. I may end up cleaning up what stays chrome and sending it to be re-chromed if the quality of my work is worth the expense. -

More frame assembly and sanding of parts done. Had to set it on its axles to see if it sat flat on every tire and was nice and square. So far so good. Decided I am going to de-chrome it a little and paint the wheels, steps and tanks aluminum. As much as I like bling, I am going for a realistic looking truck. -
That 48 coupe got me excited. I bought a convertible and was strongly thinking about picking up a resin body for it, but now I can build both!

Ford 4 cylinder speed parts source
Travis T replied to STYRENE-SURFER's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I have several Model A kits and just assumed they all had the same speed parts, sorry! Yeah, I guess the roof isn't exactly flat, but it doesn't have much of a crown to it on the early A pickups. Not like that sketch in the first picture shows. -

Love that paintjob so much I was tempted to steal it for my 1/16 BRBO entry! -

If you have the Revell Rat Rod 29, you have those parts. They came in that kit. Also, the roof is supposed to be flat. -

Thanks for the birthday wishes. The funny thing is my wife's birthday is tomorrow! -
I did that same 39 front conversion to a street rod 40 I built years ago, looks good. Are you going to use 39 or 40 headlights?

The Revell 1970 Torino. It's a 429 but that's the same externally. -

The frame and sleeper tried my patience this weekend, almost reminded me why this will be only the third truck I have finished! I was surprised at the two cross member halves, they have no positive way to attach together so I just installed the halves with the locating pins and will go back and install the other halves once everything else is glued into place. -
1956 Ford cabover
Travis T replied to White7000's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Wow, that is impressive work. Looking good. I still want to build an F-6 Ford out of one of my 50s and that isn't nearly as much work as what you are doing and it intimidates me. -

Color is always hard to pick for me and she has a good eye for what does and doesn't coordinate. I tend to paint everything in blues, grays or blacks, after looking at some trucks online I may change it yet again! -
'70 Mustang Mach 1/ Boss 302 (8/27 Foiling)
Travis T replied to Styrofoam04's topic in WIP: Model Cars
I think the Mach 1 is the better looking of the two and this kit has some nice parts for that version. The one thing that bothers me is that the rear valence isn't cut out for the correct Mach 1 exhaust tips that are not included either. I know in 69 the base 351 2V Mach did not get the nice tips, maybe it was the same in 70, but the kit is a four barrel car so it should have them. -

Huntersville, NC Barnes and Noble used to have it I thought, but last time I was in there I couldn't find it. -
Truck Kits You've Scored Recently
Travis T replied to Superpeterbilt's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Those 1:43 Peterbilts are actually nice kits. I ruined a wrecker and a semi/trailer when I was a kid. Would love to have them back. -

Now I don't know whether to thank you or cuss you Jim! I said something to my wife about not opening the doors on this one even though others are and she said what, you don't want to win? Then I see that detail of the air ride for the seat in those attachments, ugh! I have to remember I actually want to finish this one, I haven't actually finished a kit in 20+ years. The contest was supposed to be motivation to get this one done!
