  1. Great build so far! Love those trucks. They were released to fire departments as surplus over the years, and were a VERY rugged addition to many departments. I had a commercial version of the same truck........(http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/119633-1985-gmc-k3500-pickup/)...........love what you have done so far! They were rugged, basic, versatile trucks.....and a great improvement over the Dodge trucks they replaced...............(LOL)!
  2. That is VERY classy work...................on a VERY classy truck!
  3. Nicely done, from the tractor to the trailer to the diorama base...........AND the cow! NICE!
  4. Absolutely gorgeous work..............................clean, detailed and beautiful paint. WOW!
  5. Just checked it out on 3000toys.com. Very cool............I have an excavator that has been converted from one of those, but this is the first lowboy of this version I have seen. VERY cool!
  6. Very cool conversion.....................the lowboy looks great, as does the rest! NICE!
  7. Love Macks, as they just have the "look" of a hard working truck.......................and this one is no exception. Nice work!
  8. Your paint and weathering work looks great, Sam. I have never gotten results I like, but if my efforts at weathering looked like yours, I'd be overjoyed!
  9. Very nice Brockway.....................that IS a nice thin casting. Gotta try one of them!
  10. Awesome....................do you get them direct from their site or are they available in a storefront somewhere? Gotta get some!
  11. That is very nice work.......................love the paint and the details. Can't wait to see more!
  12. Typical superb work KJ! Nice!
  13. Very nice work........a truck seldom seen in it's Mack version!
  14. That is a tremendous build ..........wow! Keep the photos coming!
  15. I have been using Mr. Surfacer as a primer. It sprays super smooth, adheres very well, and spray about anything on it as a top cost. I find I like the 1000 or 1200 the best. I use it on plastic and resin with no difference in performance.
  16. My vote is for the powder....................those photos above look as real as it gets!
  17. For larger jobs, I use a two part glazing putty known as icing, used in the 1:1 world. But for little jobs, nicks, tiny stuff, the Squadron green and white works well. As those above have said, just be aware that it shrinks and you will get the most out of it.
  18. Finally got everything in the shop except the final version of my spray booth. Had everything but the lathe, but they were scattered all over the place at my home, garage and at my gun shop. Got them assembled together in one place today, and added the lathe today as well. It is NICE having tools to make "stuff" when you need it. The completion of the spray booth is next! And of course TRYING to complete a build or two at the same time! One step at a time!
  19. Cabovers rule, and this one is a perfect example of why! Nice work, and details at every nook and cranny! NICE!
  20. Absolutely want one too, Ben!
  21. The details on the frame mounted equipment between the rear fenders alone look like a few years worth of work for mere mortals. You are are amazing in your skills, and the photos show that! WOW!!!!!
  22. Nice weathering...................wish someone would do a tutorial on the methods needed to obtain results like yours! Awesome work!
  23. Hope all turned out well for you! Get back to the bench as it is great therapy.
  24. The detailing looks superb. Love the fittings you used.............and this is the first time you've done this??? SWEET!
  25. That looks very nice........................and on top of a tempermental fiberglass cab????? VERY well done!!!
