  1. Mocked up.................yeah, it could use a bit more lift, but this replicates the 4" that I had in mind for my original truck....................that i wish I NEVER had let go of!
  2. Looking at the pictures here as well as the actual parts, I see I should have used an old armor/aircraft painting trick, and pre-shaded the panel lines and door opening lines with black to avoid the white appearance of them. Oh well, that's what they make paint remover for!
  3. Thanks Mike.............yeah, that old girl was a real beast, and would have been even better if I had ever gotten her done. But this is the next best thing, and in some ways better.....I can make it any way I want and change it at will! Paint looks good so far, but time will tell after it dries a bit. I don 't use hardener so it may have some shrinkage. Trying to get it done for NNL East.....!
  4. I got the beds from Kris Morgan, right here on these forums................superb quality work. This is what he sent me when I ordered them: The beds are $15.00 plus $7.95 shipping for up to 4 beds. Our PayPal address is amorgan615@yahoo.com We would also take a U.S. Postal Money Order.
  5. Those Dodges were used by a LOT of fire departments! I had a 1974 1/2 ton W100 stepside that at one time had a 250 gallon tank and a similar set up as your build. It was WAY overloaded but did the job, was formerly a New York State Forestry truck. It had enough life left to her for me to get several years of my own abuse out of her. Keep the great work photos coming................outstanding details!
  6. Need more on this outstanding build! WOW!
  7. So far, it has the perfect look of an HD Autocar...............I built one years ago with all wheel drive an a Challenge mixer on it, and a 12V71 too..............and yours looks even more heavy duty! Very nice!
  8. Very nice so far! Keep the photos coming!
  9. I have a 1946 Chevy 1 1/2 Ton sitting in my garage, and the cab is a spitting image of the GM built trucks for the US Army. Would love to see this in a build!
  10. The big rubber looks right at home on this baby.............love it! Are you going to open the hood? The appearance of this looks perfect!
  11. The big rubber looks right at home on this baby.............love it! Are you going to open the hood? The appearance of this looks perfect!
  12. Better late than never! Looks tremendous, and the updates look super! Always loved the Transtar COE's, and this one nails the look perfectly. 37 years to finish a build.......................well, if I ever get the Mack DM600 dump truck I have in progress going again, I just may beat you...............it's been 32 years so far, and it will probably take me at least 6 or 7 more to finish it! LOL! All kidding aside, a superb quality build! Congrats!
  13. Seem to have solved the photo issue by not using the "Drag Files Here To Attach, Or Choose Files" option at the bottom of the reply box, and instead use the photo tab at the top of the reply box, and still using Photobucket. Hey, if it works.................................
  14. Seems like I have the photo problem under control.................at least for now! Here is a pic of the bed with added underside detail, and the entire thing in Mr. Surfacer primer mocked together to check the overall stance.....looks exactly like I hoped!
  15. Shot the color coat.............came out pretty good. We will see what it looks like after drying for a few days. Did it with PPG ShopLine Enamel, GM Code 29 Dark Blue reduced with PPG ShopLine Mid Temp Reducer. Flows out very well. Will wait a week or more to dry completely, then get rid of any nibs that show up and buff as needed to get rid of any orange peel or shrinkage that shows up. Still, pretty happy with it so far. Boy, this brings back memories of my old truck! It also brings back memories of painting the many square body GMC/Chevy trucks I did over the years I owned my body shop................just like painting the real thing, only tinier! DEJA-VU!
  16. Keep an eye on eBay..........a seller named johnnytech10 makes very nice rollback bodies for 1/25th builds.
  17. If only..................................my 1973 GTO, one of only 4806 built, and a second one only 100 numbers away as a parts car, two 1969 Mustang fastbacks, 65 and 67 Mustang fastbacks, the 67 being a 390 car, and my 1985 GMC K3500 that I bought new and drove into the ground, only to start a ground up resurrection of it with all new sheet metal, running gear and a crate 502 engine. All of them went bye-bye when I built my new house and had to empty my 5000 sq. ft. garage/toy box at the old house! The GTO, I owned for exactly 30 years to the day...........miss her most of all.
  18. Superb work! And the weathering is awesome. Though that particular model Mack has a fiberglass hood, I have seen many that look very similar as it looks like very weathered paint worn down to the red primer underneath. The cabs, however were very prone to rust. Very cool!
  19. ALLright.....................I'm calling you on this..........................There is NO WAY that you can do what you do without divine intervention, a deal with the devil, or maybe BOTH! How the heck to do you manage to do such incredibly TINY and fine work without doing the Fantastic Voyage style microscopic shrinking machine????? Huh???? Spill the beans!!!! All kidding aside, I am not only amazed, but made jealous by your imagination, mechanical ability, model building ability, and also being able to do such small work! I have a hard time picking up a common pin with my fingers, and you are MAKING pieces SMALLER than common pins!!!! Wow.................keep it up, just LOOKING at your work in pictures makes me feel younger!
  20. Joseph, I just got my first order from you, and I can assure you it will not be my last! The speed of delivery is astounding and the quality is second to none. I got two sets of the 17" Method wheels with Wrangler tires. They are exactly what I was looking for and as stated, the quality is simply amazing. There is not a flaw, not a bit of size variation, nothing. Perfection! Thank you for these products and keep the good work coming! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!!!!
  21. Very nice A'Car. The wrecker body came out VERY nice.........and I love the Detroit heart transplant!
  22. Well, at 62 and my current completion rate of about 1 or 2 per year, I figure I am good until I'm about 212 years old.......................AND to quote one of MY favorite bumper stickers/slogans........."FROM MY COLD, DEAD, HANDS"
  23. Wow........................very nice build! Looks like a miniaturized original!
  24. I just got some items from both of these companies. The wait time was almost instant and the quality of the wheels, tires, and resin parts could set a goal for AMT, Moebius, and other major makers to aspire to!!!! 11 on a scale of 1-10. Highly recommended!
