  1. Extremely nice replica of an iconic vehicle!
  2. Not only does the quality of the work make it look like it is from a 4x4 and Off Road magazine about 1:1 trucks, the weathering looks like you just drove it through a real mudhole. NICE!
  3. Your weathering is beyond belief! I have never been able to do anything CLOSE to that, and Lord knows I've tried! How about a tutorial on that?!
  4. AND, they just did it AGAIN! I am DONE.
  5. I give up.....................................using Photobucket as supposed to, I am being told "file does not exist", or that the size is too large and I am simply unable to post any more photos. AND, when I asked a question in the "How To Use This Forum", when I entered the question, THEN the photos I was TRYING to post HERE, posted THERE. Guess this old fart has finally reached the limit of his abilities. Signing off..............It was fun while it lasted. Done.
  6. It seems that maybe the latest update to my "smart" phone did something to prevent me from posting photos, OR, maybe my smart phone is simply smarter than me! I figure I KNOW the answer, but simply don't want to admit it! So, here is a second effort....................
  7. I bought a 1985 GMC K3500 pickup new back in 1984. It was a loaded truck, with the 454, power everything, air, cruise, and about everything I could ask for. It was a single rear wheel model. I used that truck up...........flat out wore it out. I then decided to rebuild her and started gathering parts. I used the engine in a wrecker I had, so I bought a 502 HO crate engine. I got all new sheet metal for her, including a new cab complete, rust free. I sandblasted the frame, put new kingpins in it, new springs, new everything. And then we decided to move. SO..........................I ended up selling almost all of my trucks, cars, and tools. I simply had no room at the new house for them............the garage I HAD was 50 x 100 and was full. So everything had to go. Ever since that day ten years ago, I have been kicking myself. I started doing the same thing but in 1/25th scale. I gathered parts.................!! So, here is the start of my replica GMC K3500. I used a Fall Guy cab, a resin 8 foot body, and stretched the frame from the Fall Guy kit. I used a resin 14 bolt rear end and built my own 60 series front axle from pieces and parts. The engine came from a Monte Carlo kit as did the 400 Turbo transmission. I added proper panel lines to the cab as shown. I also made a cowl induction hood, as that was what I was going to use on my 1:1 truck. I found the proper bucket seats and console for the interior. And I have suceeded in adding yet ANOTHER project to my line of projects vying for my time! Will add photos as soon as I can.......

  14. I guess I'll give it a go!
  15. SWEET! Another incomparable tutorial in the fine art of truck model scratch building! Now if Charlie would only show us how to build the machine he miniaturizes the real 1:1 truck with....................! Keep the details coming Charlie!

  20. WOW! THAT brings back memories of an old 1953 Trotwood teardrop trailer we dragged around FOREVER, and I HATED it, then! Those are truly pieces of art, I really hope someone can locate the builder!
  21. Keep the photos coming, Like it so far!
  22. Yes sir, it's there under the SUSPENSION heading. Awesome work!
  23. Checked out the Monte Carlo kit and it has a reasonable big block and the 400. Will work fine. THANKS TO ALL! Am going to build two versions, one stock as bought new in late 1984 and another in what I wanted to make her after a total rebuild, with a crate 502.
  24. I'm just asking for input from people for the big block that is the best as far as accuracy etc. is concerned. It does not have to come attached to the 400 Turbo. I will check the kits mentioned to see if the trans is a 400. THANKS!
