  1. I'm not much into lowriders and imports, but your builds are top notch stuff ! Thanks for sharing !

    sleeper?

Very cool build ! I actually like the color, a '51 Chevy wears it well !
  3. I remember these old Pyro kits when I was a kid, I had a '57 Chevy convertible with the mult-piece body, no plated parts. I remember opening the box and thinking "this sucks" ! Now I think it would be fun to try one of these again to see what I could make of it now!
  4. Great save, I like the long wheel base on these old Fords better than the short box. I wish there were more Ford pick-up kits out there.
  5. Bill, that is beautiful! I admire your skills in opening up the doors and trunks and your details! I have an unbuilt original kit with the molded in mirror also. I've been building for years, but have yet to make my own windshields and such. What is the best way to glue in acetate windows? I've been using Elmers craft bond on styrene glass, will that work? And thanks for sharing that work of art Nova!
  6. There were changes to the rear crossmember of the frame, lower and narrower transmission hump, [ really not that big of deal] . Tailpipes no longer exited out of the back of car, again not a big deal if your not building factory stock. The hubcaps are close, but were different for '60. Power steering pump was now mounted to motor and belt driven, not driven off the back of the generator as in '59. Other than those few problems, it's a great kit, one I've waited 30+ years for as my dad had a red Impala 4-door hardtop with a 348 when I was just a little kid !
  7. I don't recall any fit issues with the windshield, Bill. My biggest "gripe" was the chassis. I wish they would have made a '60 specific chassis instead of sliding by with the '59 chassis! BTW Bill I looked at your album and was blown away by your "58 Impala! Most awsome build I ever seen !
  8. Here's one of my favorite builds, built from the Revell lowrider kit. Painted with Model Master white lacquer with turquoise trim. Removed the incorrect for 1960 spare tire well from the chassis, cut down the rocker panels on the chassis so they didn't hang down below the rocker panels on the body. I also shortened the tailpipes to exit behind the wheels, cut the front spindles and moved forward as I felt the front wheels sat to far back in the wheel openings compared to the 1:1 car. I cut the batteries from the trunk floor and replaced with sheet styrene. I used the tires from the Revell '64 Chevy pick-up as the stock ones were not included in the lowrider kit, added parts box spare tire. Seat patterns are scans of the original kits decals. Let me know what you think and thanks for looking!
  9. You did a great job on a kit that leaves alot to be desired!
  10. Any time I see a clean build like this, I would have to say it's special! I like the flat black you used on the hood, has just the right sheen! Beautiful!
  11. Nice clean build! I remember alot of 79's in that color scheme when they were new.
  12. Very clean and well detailed build! One of the better looking '58's from the GM that year.
  13. Right on, Harry!
  14. Very good looking build with convincing weathering and engine detailing! Beautiful! BTW does anyone know if this will be reissued anytime soon?
  15. Very nice build! My sister and brother in law traded a 65 GTO in for a new 74 Pinto. Whats up with the Pinto?
  16. Great looking Chevelle, James ! Just the right amount of weathering, looks like a well cared for 2 yr old Chevelle!
  17. Thanks for the comments, guys. I painted it with Duplicolor Radiant Red and Bright White, then polished it real good. This was my first adult build of this kit, I built a couple as a kid way back, this was a fun build! Here's some "on the bench " pics that I'll post here since I wasn't a member at the time!
  18. Hi, I'm the new guy on the forum, so I guess I'll just show you my last build, maybe some of you have seen it on the "other" forum. thanks for looking. Bill
