  5. thanks for the kind comments guys ! mark, as was stated by scudetto the kit comes with door hinges, however a company called the model car garage makes photo etch piano hinges for 1/25 model trucks. the are very tedious to assemble , but will work great. hope this helps :
  6. R.O.G. kit . aluminum fuel tanks from Spaulding, amt quarter fenders. I converted the kits cummins engine to a cat by cutting the top off the engine block, cutting same off a monogram cat block, and putting them together. that way I could do the engine install with no trouble and still use the kits tranny and driveshaft . It looks very convincing . I also used amt headlites which are smaller, the kit parts seem too big and don't look quite right to me. bare metal foil was used around the door jams before the doors were installed . also used it for the door handles, vent doors, and door hinges.
  7. that's just awesome ! nice clean build .
  8. that is looking pretty sweet ! you really took the transtar to a whole new level, great work !

  10. that looks very nice ! I like it a lot !
  11. great build ! I agree on the sleeper swap. the gmc general sleeper looks much better. the mecury sits too low and doen't look right with the cab roof higer than the sleeper.

  18. hello all, here is a b75 mack. I call it my big dog. the resin cab, fuel tanks, and buzzin dozen v-12 twin turbo deetriot was purchased from Spaulding way back when. the stencil decals also came from Spaulding. I cut out the molded in hood and fabbed a replacement from sheet brass. I also made the hood hinges from brass tubing. the cab was mounted onto a amt diamond reo frame. the rear suspension and the rear ends from the reo kit were also used as well as the spoke rear rims. revell Germany tires were used all the way around. the front axle which is poseable is also a revell Germany unit. the exaust stacks and quarter fenders are from the snap kw aerodyne kit. I painted it green + black which is my favorite colors for a B mack. I am thinking about replacing the front steers with moebius units I have left over which I think might look better. not sure yet. I also may change the front bumper to the original one or to a texas style. an italeri freightliner bumper sits on there now. hope you guys like it and thanks for looking.
  19. great work ! looks like a real workhorse
  20. excellent work ! the weathering is spectacular !
  21. thanks brian, it made the sleeper kinda cramped inside but just enough . I guess ringsby spec'd it that way for using the longest possible trailer or perhaps doubles. the models wheelbase is slightly longer than the real one, short wheelbase, small cab it would beat ya to death but that was truckin back in the day!
  22. thanks for the kind comments guys !
  23. nice work ! you really captured the look of a real work truck, I like it !
  24. I agree, my latest freightliner (the one in my avatar) I used the moebius for the rears but wasn't happy with the fronts so I went back to the revell.
